  1. I know ther was someone on here that was running the Aerochamber muffler and I was wondering if there was anyone else? How are these mufflers? I am looking to trade out my dual Flowmasters with either dual Magnaflow or the AeroChamber. Most are going to tell me to go with Magnaflow I know, but I want a little more tone and sound out. I am not certain I like the Magnaflow sound. Thanks for the input.

  2. do you already have a tune? I'm pretty sure tuner's give free retunes, and it may be a little easier on them to do little by little. Just a thought:pepsicheer:

I just got my tune yesterday in the mail from Wheatley. It might be a few months before I get the cam so I have an email into him to see about getting a new tune for the intake.

  3. 212/218 .558/.563 115LSA then this is probably the best cam for you if its the end of performance mods

That's funny you say that. That is the cam I had just told myself I was going to get after seeing some videos on youtube. One question though. What would the difference in 114 lsa and 115lsa be?

we need more info on what your future plans are and what budget you have, springs and push rods are pretty expensive, cam determines alot of other mods your planning on doing, so its not somehting u should just randomly pick and throw in it.

I am planning on a cam being the last of my performance mods. This is my daily driver so I don't want anything too extreme.

  5. I have a brand new Comp XR269HR but it's on a 116lsa custom grind that I can sell you. That is if it's what your lookin for. I can get you the cam card so you have all the info.

This is the problem I am not sure what I am looking for. This is why I am asking for opinions on here. I am not sure what my best route is... Do you know what that cam will do for my setup in my signature?

  6. Don't waste your time and money on a LS6 cam. Don't get me wrong, they can put out some big numbers. But that is when they are used in the right application. Like being FI.

If you want to find the right cam for your needs just call around. Call Comp, Zippy, Thunder Racing, Texas Speed etc and see what they say.

If you want to stay with the TBTC something in the teens (214) to low 20's (222) for the duration.

If you want to keep the top end reliable and not have to change springs like your tires, then something around a .580 lift (provided it's not an extremely aggressive lobe grind)

Like I said earlier though, do some good research, and ask around. The bad thing is that everyone has their opinion on what you need, and everything else you will need and why.

Plan ahead on it as it is the heart of the motor in a sense.

BTW this is my opinion, and i'm not a cam genius by any means.

With that being said I am thinking either XR265HR...212/218 .558/.563 115LSA or XR269HR...216/220 .525/.532 114LSA . I am also thinking of going with 918 springs and hardened push rods. I do have emails and pm's in for answers on which way to go but I am not getting a whole lot of information, which is why I started this thread. Gathering opinions is part of my research.

  7. This is the one I plan on doing for my LQ4 swap. ....XER273HR...224/230 .581/.591 114LSA

Check this out as well. This is pretty much the reason I want to do this cam. Plus it will be good for a blower that I'm planning on getting in the future.

The video links don't work...Maybe I should just get the ls6 cam from ebay. They are pretty cheap.

i saw ur post in this thread but the very 1st post by zippy has a pretty good list didnt know if u saw this

    I have seen that thread, and have made a post there for zippy but I guess hes pretty behind. All these cam numbers are french to me. I am not sure which way to go and which will give the better gains between the following;

    XR259HR...206/212 .515/.522 112LSA

    XR265HR...212/218 .558/.563 115LSA

    XR269HR...216/220 .525/.532 114LSA

  9. I am getting a cam for my graduation present and was looking for ideas since I don't know much about cam specs. I am looking for something that is going to have good daily driving habits and is a little more aggressive than the LS6 cam.

I will have servos, TBTC, shift kit, short headers, dual flowmasters, TBSS intake, and a tune when this goes in. I am thinking I want to go the route of a TSP custom ground kit with springs and push rods.

    Thanks for the help.

  10. Did the manifold come with rails or do you have to get rails no matter what? the intakes are ugly so if you have stock rails I'd use them and save the money for maybe a fast intake down the road if your at all worried about appereance.:pepsicheer:

The intake has everything. I thought I read on here somewhere that the rails between the stock ss intake and the tbss intake are different. The cross over is different for one thing. I was wondering if I could use my stock rails with the tbss cross over fuel line. Also I am not sure if I need to upgrade the injectors. I am trying to gather information on how to go about his install.

  11. I just got a tbss intake manifold for cheap and was wondering about fuel rails. Should I go with stock or find aftermarket rails? Something like scorpion or summit racing fuel rails? I know I have to change the cross over to the other rail which I figured would be done by using a braided fuel line. Thanks for the input!

  14. With the 47391 TCMax you'll need to add a little under a quart of minimum Dexron III rated ATF, your brand of choice sir.

$85 an hour in the average going rate for labor in our area right now. Since you're going to big Dave's guy, if I read correctly your previous thread, maybe he'll cut you a break.

I just went through this, called around, $85 an hour was the best I could find at a reputable shop.

Yea I have to give Big Dave's guy a call. I am waiting on a tune before I do anything install wise. I was waiting on my cooler but it finally cam yesterday. So now I have to send my info off to Wheatley/ Just trying to figure out what this is going to total up at if I have the money for the install right now. Might need to wait for my tax money. Thanks for the info and help.

  15. First question I have is regarding a 40K cooler install. I am going to be installing a trucool max cooler myself and was wondering if when I get it installed if I have to top off the oil with the same thing in the tranny already? Meanng GM with GM or Royal purple with royal purple, etc.

Next I have servos, shift kit, TBTC, and a performance rebuild kit to go in at a tranny shop. What is a fair price to have these parts installed? What have you guys paid?

    Thanks for the help.
