I am looking for a good fair priced transmission shop in the 805 area. I have a TBTC, shift kit, and servos that need to be put in. Does anyone have any ideas? Also what can I expect to pay for this install? Thanks for the help.
-
I have one of these on its way. What did you do with the sensor that was to the right of the stock cooler? Did you cut the lines?
-
Check all the calipers and rotors to see what may have made the noise. Maybe a component is loose somewhere on the truck and that's what made the sound. The truck still brakes and drives alright?
Yea truck is driving fine and braking fine. I just replaced my rotors and pads about 2 months ago. I did a visual inspection today and noticed I have one lug nut missing. I wounder if that is what the sound was from. Guess its time to recheck all my lug nuts.

4L60E-HD2
So they are the same kit. Thanks for the help.

No there was nothing in the bed.

Today on my way to work someone in front of me stopped at a green light in the rain. I had to slam on my brakes not to hit them. When I did this there was a clunk sound come from what sounded like the right rear. Is there any thoughts on what that could have been?
-
Does anyone have a part number for the Transgo HD2 shift kit? I am only seeing a kit for the 4l60e transmission. Is this kit used for both transmissions? Thanks for the help.
-
yes, theres a 4th servo if you buy 1 get the sonnax http://cgi.ebay.com/...RK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
heres the boost valve http://cgi.ebay.com/...846322081869018
vette 2nd servo http://cgi.ebay.com/...sQ5fAccessories
unless you just have the extra money dont buy the billet 2nd probably not worth an extra 50 bucks more than the vette 2nd, I dont know what the transgo comes with but these are what your asking about boost valve will increase line pressure to help hold.
Thanks for the links. I am going to go ahead and purchase these, then I will be looking for the transgo hd2 shift kit. I have also found a TBTC I am going to be buying as well. Hopefully soon I will be able to get these parts and a tune put in my truck. I'm looking forward to it. Thanks again for all the help.

The link you have posted has a picture for a 700r4. That is not the boost valve that is in your 4l65E transmission. Also the accumulator pistons are both for a 700R4. In your trans you will have a small pin piston for the 1-2 accumlator, a large hole for the 3-4 and the forward acc has a small hole with a smaller diameter. The servo is correct. Just wanted to point this out so you know what you are looking at. Vince
I 'm glad I asked before buying. I am starting to gather that it may be better to just buy the corvette servo. Is there a different servo for the 4th gear? Do I even need to buy an extra boost valve since the Transgo kits come with one? Thanks for all the help.
-
Yes correct servo but I think the biggest boost valve for our 4l60 is .490 that's for the 200r tranny could be wrong
I can email the seller and ask him. The 05 SS has a 4L60 correct? It's not the 65e? Also do I need to get the longer pin as well? Thanks for your help.

I just want to make sure this kit has the proper servos for an 05 SS.
Thanks for the help.

Ive put my tbtc to the test and never had a problem so far! I tow my trailer all over the country with my tbtc and i would say my trailer probably weighs a little over 8000lbs.
Which TBTC are you guys using. Is it the I6 or BU-51?
Also, why is the corvette servo only 20 bucks, but the 4th servo is about 80 bucks?

I ran a TB converter for a very short time when I first got my truck and was one of the first mods I did to it. I bought my truck with the intenstions of pulling my Camaro around.......but that obviously didnt happen lol For the money, it is a very good bang for the buck. I believe mine flashed to 2800 damn near.
But, then again it is still a STOCK converter. Guys with maggies have used them before and have been successful. On the other end iv heard some grenading them also. At the end of the day, they are still a stock converter and arent ment to take excessive torque load.
As mentioned above, TCS, Circle D, and Precision Industries are all good converters. If you are looking to make decent power TB converter isnt what you want. If you are going to keep it simple bolt ons, I would say go for it.
Always remember, you get what you pay for!
I am for sure not going forced induction on my truck. I am going with just some bolt ons with the most being a cam. I don't have a ton of money to throw into my projects right now since I am in school still. So those are my intentions. I am for sure going with a tune also but am trying to wait till I get the most work done on the truck first before I send out for a tune. Thanks for all the input guys.

What Size coolers are guy moving to> 24,000? Do I need to have a tune as soon as I have the converter put in?

Hey guy. I am starting to think about adding a shift kit (zippy, or Trans-Go), servos and possibly a TBTC to my truck. I use the truck as a DD and do very little towing with it (Just jet skis, and a small enclosed trailer for quads). I am wondering what the pros and cons are for adding a stall to a daily driver. Also if no one thinks a TBTC is a bad add, I'd like to know what the proper p/n is for the TBTC. If I add the TBTC do I have to have the truck tuned for it right away, and a bigger fluid cooler? Thanks for the help.

what kit are you running in front just 2 inch spindles?
Yes, Just the belltech spindles.

I was running Duall 40's before I put an x-pipe in and I was begining to hate the mufflers. The sound was fine for me, but it did have a lot of drone. There was what seemed to be low end loss. I put the x-pipe in before the dual 40's and what a difference in performance that made. The throttle response is better and it smoothed out the sound. The sound tone seems to change a little bit, but mostly just a smoother sound. I do thing some of the drone is gone also. Right now I have stock manifolds will soon be changed to Edlebrock shorties I got from my brother so we'll see how that changes things.

Hey guys,
I'm taking my truck in for an alignment again next week. Do I need to put the Belltech wheel alignment kit on since I keep having alignment issues with my Belltech 2" drop? The truck is pulling bad to the right.
belltech 4955 kit
Is bad alignment what causes the Steering wheel to vibrate back and fourth?
Thanks guys.

I have a 2004 Yamaha YFZ450 that I am currently in the process of saving money for to build it for mx motocross racing. Money is falling short and decreasing and that's why I'm trying to sell stuff. But yea I like my quad, but I haven't been able to ride it now for over a year because it's been broke and it's in pieces right now because money is not working for me in my favor. I'm trying to build my quad for Nationals to race at the Pro Am Level, but if I can't get money to buy the parts I want and need, then I won't be able to race or ride at all.
Quads are fun. I have an 08 yfz450. I love the thing. I'm trying to figure out what route to go with suspension.

I am looking to put in a cam sometime int he future. Is the LS6 cam a good power improvement for a DD? If so how is a kit like this:
-
use the factort gaskets with factory bolts. go to a dealership and get a new set of them. there is 12 bolts.
on a side note, y did u get shorties? they are a waste of time man.
I have the luxury of smog and no one I know that does smog checks. Plus I got them for next to nothing from a friend. Thanks for the help about the bolts and gaskets.
-
I am about to install some shortie headers and I didn't get crush rings with the headers. My question is will collector gaskets work just as well or do I need to go find crush rings? Thanks for the help.
-
Well today I had an x-pipe put on my exhaust before switching over to magnaflows. All I can say is wow what difference adding the x-pipe did. Not only does the truck respond better but the sound on the inside of the cab is a lot better.
