chawkins6789
So you got the normal 2300.
rcapone
Yes...after much deliberation, I finally decided on the regular 2300 since I don't think I'll go past 15psi and this one should handle that with no problem. Several factors played a roll - Ease of installation was my biggest concern, then additional cost of not only the blower but accessory drives, etc. I figured the extra money would be better spent on those Intros. GM_Mastertech01
Sucks working on Sunday but, it's getting close to done! Good thing too is, since Randy started this build at my shop, I've had a couple of other Rods' come in for work. Yesterday I had a 383 stroker Camaro and day before a 63' Suburban showed up. Nice having this kind of stuff to do. The Maggie project on the SS is going good. Probably finish it tomorrow and then it looks like we'll be off to Topeka Friday for a test run. Good work bro! MID12sSSS
Woohoo! Be sure to get vids! Great work guys! It's going to be a monster!
poopnewton
Looks good. I was almost going to do pretty much the same build as you before I decided on a turbo at the last minute. I'm interested what kind of numbers you end up putty down considering how close I was to getting one myself. Depending on how everything turns out I can't help but wonder if I might be for not getting the TVS a couple months from now. rcapone
Thanks guys! First start up should be tomorrow and I'll be sure to get a vid and post it. Also like my brother said, we're going to test and tune this friday to see how she's running! ...lot's of vid to follow for sure Edited June 9, 2014 by L8ERBRO (see edit history)
MID12sSSS
Yeah. It'll be nice to see progression of your 3 stages of the build. If you don't run as fast as you're expecting, don't get discouraged. That cam and those heads will wake it up big time. This will be a badass truck when you're done. Even more than it already is. That tonneau is gonna be nuts with that custom paint too!!
poopnewton
Oh... You were... These TVS blowers are better than any turbo... You might be right. Too bad I found out a guy at work swapped out his stock supercharger on his GT500 for a tvs2300. AT that point I had to be different. His car does put 769rwhp if I remember correctly, that's pretty impressive. I think I'm screwed either way if I ever end up racing him. MID12sSSS
Lol. I was just trying to start a riot. Turbos are great too. I'm just biased because I'm in the process of a 2300 build myself.
rcapone
Kinda disappointed I didn't get finished up today as I didn't get to work on it all day. I did get the efans installed and wiring harness, heat exchanger pump and removed the grille and old trans cooler. HOPEFULLY I will be able to finish it tomorrow. I was able to buy a Magnuson crank pinning kit for Gen 3/4 engines ordered off ebay last night! GI.SS
It's coming together man keep at it! She's gonna be a runner for sure
AKSSS
Looking good! Don't fret. You can't rush this stuff. Do it right the first time. Did you mount your relays on your ECM cover? That could be a pain. If you trim some of the rubber. You can mount them onto the drivers side of the core support. That's where mine are mounted. Hpm was mounting them there and they hid them very well.
MID12sSSS
Yeah man! Yours is coming together much faster than some of our builds. So don't feel too bad.
rcapone
Done!!! It was challenging for a newbie like me to come up with a way to mount the trans cooler and heat exchanger...took me almost all day. Here's how I did it...
