  1. Another AMSOIL Dealer here. This was actually listed as one of the questions that every dealer should know how to answer in this month's dealer edition of AMSOIL Magazine. Synthetic oils do not cause engines to leak oils. Our oil, for example, is fully compatible with modern seal materials and is properly formulated to condition seals, keeping them pliable to prevent leakage. Really, where this myth comes from, is alot of times, when someone switches to synthetic oil, after many thousands of miles of conventional oil that hasn't been changed religiously, the synthetic oil begins cleaning out the internals. The seals have been warn out, but there wasn't a leak due to the amount of gunk actually plugging it up. When that is cleaned out, the gunk goes away and the seal does begin to show that it needs replaced. The problem with the gunk acting as a plug, is that it often doesn't reveal small problems until they become big ones. If the vehicle has been properly taken care of when the conventional oil was used, there will be absolutely no problems switching to synthetic. Hope that all made sense. If you have any other questions about it, feel free to let me know.
  2. Mine is runnin strong at about 105K
  3. That upside down/bass-ackwards S is a little sketchy, lol.
  4. I've not gotten around to switching over to it in the SS, but it's what I run in the Trans Am, and it's as good a product as all their other stuff!

I don't like the "almost" center exhaust either. The placement looks funky. I hate the front bumper too. I want that hood though.
  6. Sounds like a pretty cool idea. I may see what I can come up w/. Sent from my LG-US670 using Tapatalk 2
  7. Yeah, would definitely be something to think about. Especially if enough people would be interested. I should definitely see about becoming a vendor before doing something like that.
  8. Agreed with JC03SS. It should be in the $70 ballpark for 6qt of the signature series, the Ea filter and the shipping from Orlando. Sounds like whoever quoted it to you wasn't trying to screw ya over, lol.
  9. +1 on the Hankooks. I figured I would try them because they were priced right, the reviews were good and my Scorpions were done. I was really impressed with how well they have done on wet and slick conditions, as well as dry. Sent from my LG-US670 using Tapatalk 2
  10. Lol. People are so stupid.... Sent from my LG-US670 using Tapatalk 2
  11. Let me know if you have any questions, or I can help you out with anything.
  12. Lol. Im not gonna ship my truck to Hawaii, but I could probably cover the mountain state. Sent from my LG-US670 using Tapatalk 2
  13. I think one or two of them were duds or something. I only dyno'd 935hp with them on there. Haha
  14. Yeah, it was definitely a fun time. Last summer, my wife and I would have won the final day, but I got a ticket in Montgomery Alabama, which got us DQ'd, lol. We still got there 3rd over all and had the quickest time of the day. Here are some of the pics of the truck from the 1st year and a couple of the Trans AM from last summer.
  15. AMSOIL doesn't like its dealers openly advertising their prices, so I sent you a PM. If you're already getting around 16, you probably won't see a 3mpg increase. That would be awesome though, lol. My guess is you may see one or two. Never know though. I always got low MPG in my truck because of most of my driving being a combination of city driving, mountains and me having somewhat of a lead foot, lol. I averaged around 11 before the AMSOIL and a little over 13 after. Highway mileage when I'm out of the mountains is around 18.
  16. Like JC03SS said, we do have ATF. We carry about any lubricant you could think of.
  17. I'd been away for a while, and missed that I didn't post anything on here about our rally in the SS. I'll do my best to go back and recap the experience. My wife and I do road rallies with Rally North America. Last summer, we were tearing up the south in the Trans Am, but in 2011, we ran Rally Appalachia in the truck. We started in Winchester, Va and did 1500 miles through the mountains on our way to Charleston SC. We met some cool people, saw some beautiful country, I got to race on a 1/4 oval, do some 1/8 mile runs, and race laps at Darlington Raceway. It was definitely a blast. I'm at work right now, but will upload some pictures later. Here is a copy of an article that my buddy, Larry did for us in the magazine that he is the editor for: http://www.amosauto.com/Articles/General/Features/rally-appalachia-1 I even got a pic of the SS racing at Darlington in the magazine (picture 9), so that was pretty cool too. Enjoy! Here is the article from last year's rally if anyone is interested. No pics of the T/A in it though =( http://www.amosauto.com/Articles/General/Features/rally-for-a-cause
  18. Nah, the Dominator wouldn't hurt it at all. Really, if all you do with yours is bring it out when it's nice and run it hard, it may not be a bad idea to try it out in yours. The main reason I'd suggest the Signature Series in vehicles that are driven normal, as much or more than they are in racing conditions, is because its formulation is more specific for all-around conditions. It will give the best mix of power/economy, etc. while still providing the best possible protection. In comparison, the Dominator is more formulated for just the more harsh driving conditions. It's more geared toward the power and high temp protection, making it less "slippery" in normal driving and cooler conditions, which wouldn't provide the other benefits, like increased fuel mileage that you would get with the Signature Series. Either of them would be fine to use though. Maybe try out the Signature Series for a while, then try out the Dominator, and see which suits you better.
  19. Yup. Anyone who has an AMSOIL account can order any AMSOIL product. Honestly, up there, I'm surprised there isn't a lot of activity with AMSOIL because of things like powersports and marinas and that type of thing
  20. Feel free to get a quote from me on the AMSOIL, if you don't already know someone, or if you don't find a local dealer that you would rather use. I'll get you the cheapest price I can. Edit: For the Mods. If this post is bending any of the rules about vendors or anything like that, feel free to let me know as I don't want nor mean to step on anyone's toes.
  21. I just did a quick search and there is an installer in Fairbanks. Northern Power Sports on 1980 Van Horn Rd. I couldn't find any T-1 Certified Dealers in the area. I'd say give them a call and see how much they want for it there, then (if you want), check with me and see if I can get it to you cheaper. Good luck!
  22. The Dominator oil is great stuff if you plan on running it in something that sees consistent high revs, high temperatures and shock-loading. I'd personally stick with the Signature Series in anything other than a race app though.
