Everything you want to know about cats and CA http://www.magnaflow...4california.asp As to the smog shop question, well it depends where you go. My buddy had CARB legal headers and high flow cats on a Toyota pickup a few years back. He took it to the same shop year after year and they never asked him about anything done to the truck, it was highly modified for desert racing. He passed every year no problem, well within the legal limits. One year, not sure why, he took it to another shop. That shop said the headers weren't legal because it didn't have the CARB EO number stamped on the headers themselves even though he had the CARB EO number sticker in the glove box. Based on your info in your signature this is supposed to be the correct CA approved cat http://www.summitrac...arts/MPE-45106/

If you need cats and if you're not in a rush, keep your eyes open for some Dynatechs. Deals come up on ebay, craigslist, the for sale section, performanceturcks , LS1trucks, etc. Never know when someone might be selling a set.

rudy91040 replied to stevet8754's topic in Off-Topic/General
Not sure about the recall but it might be a stepper motor for your speedo. Search around and I believe someone did a write up about swappign one out. They are available on eBay for a descent price. -
I'd go with 1-3/4"

The way to know for sure is to take a medium or lare crescent wrench and a tape measure out to your truck. Open the jaws on the wrench up bigger than the sway bar. Close the jaws until they just touch the sway bar. Then measure the opening with your tape measure. 32mm = 1-14" = 1.2598 36mm= just under 1-1/2"= 1.417 I believe Fireman31 is correct but measure it just to be sure. You never know. I've seen some wierd stuff done from the factory and from previous vehicle owners.

Thing you should be asking yourself is how capable are of doing the mods to make the cladding fit a RCSB if you even want to? Do you have the time? If you aren't up to the task of modifying the cladding, don't want to or don't have the time then go for it. Its not a screaming deal but its not a bad deal.

What is your long term goal? If you plan on boosting or significant engine mods, go with the 1-7/8". For a bolt-on motor 1-3/4" will be fine. Remmeber bigger isn't always better. If you go too big you will lose the scavenging effect becasue the velocity of the exhaust gases is too slow. As to best place, keep your eye on the for sale section, ebay, craigslist, the usual places.

Got any pics of the back of the housing? I'm curious too as to why you are selling them.

Ignoring this and driving it until it breaks will take a bad situation and make it very very bad. As stated before, it can tear up the under carriage, fuel tank, wiring, and possibly damage your transmission and or your rear end.

Z06 Caliper Mounts Front And Rear New

Anyone still looking for these, pm me. I still have some left -
By no means am I an expert but I knew more than a few guys that installed for a living and I remember a few things they taught me. If someone knows better or I'm incorrect, please correct me. Always run your power on one side of the vehicle and your RCAs on the other Avoid running power and RCAs near each other and if they have to cross at any point do it perpendicular If you are getting noise, try to find the problem before using filters or similar devices. They are only a band aid for a bigger problem Try running all the grounds from all of your equipment to a common poInt Double check all ground straps on your vehicle
-
As stated above, its interference. Before it started was there anything done to your truck? There are many causes for it, bad ground, loose spark plug wire (I've heard of but never actually heard in in real life), power wires run in parallel to RCAs, etc.

It is normal to have a bit of the pad not contacting the rotor.
