  1. ^^^^^Really?! I am very interested.... I need to research this when I have time in the next 24-48 hours. My master plan was to detail the truck to my certain specs and then use 3M paint spray protector. 3M is probably a cheap alternative to the real deal clear bra but I cannot afford my whole truck to be clearbra'd currently.
  2. I do not plan on going big with this truck currently (as I may be in the market for a SSS 2wd). The 180 is enough as I will not be going f/i or spraying, yet. It's just a vehicle to drive my handicap family member around in and enjoy on given days (this family member owned vettes so they love this truck but dislike z71s). I do not have a tune yet, but have put just under a 1k miles recently and I feel the urge asap to get the next mod w/tune. The truck has an appt for an emissions valve (thing is stuck open giving me literally around 10mpgs). I am possibly in the market for another SSS as it is easier for a family member to get around in this vehicle more so than their current vehicle. I would have to put the awd to the forefront as a daily driver vehicle due to the NorthEast weather. I am one to admit I never would thought I would put this vehicle through winter, but if I have a 2nd I cannot complain.
  3. I like the idea of cai, e fans and headers. Will breathe a lot better. I think my route may be cai and tune, then e-fans, nextly I can debate Corsa or ARH. That was very helpful, thank you.
  4. Good to see you back John , just back myself recently. Will need to be in touch
  5. I have a Lingenfelter 180 thermostat on the truck. It is stock otherwise mechanically and very proud I have kept it that way all these years. I have debated in my head over and over again which mod I should go with next to help my current 180 thermo (and tune when I purchase). After being here a bit it seems obvious to go either CAI or muffler to help the tune (and go with my 180). Either mod would be GMPP, their intake or Borla muffler. Debate point: I will eventually switch to Corsa for the long haul for an exhaust. I do love the stock system (just wished it flowed better). Would it be a waste to get the Borla to only replace it later with the Corsa rather than go with the intake with the tune? I really want what is best and will gain me the most from the tune (which I think is the muffler and has me thinking muffler over intake). I think I am going nuts debating this with myself So would you purchase a muffler or intake to help the 180 making the most of the tune?
  6. I am not the murdered out fan either, but their are some very tasteful redrummed trucks on here. Like stated it ties the rest of the truck together. I think in person it somewhat is, but when these new paints show the difference its night and day (I can only imagine in person). I love that black bowtie with the outline, but I have plans on keeping mine gold colored, with a twist. Just need a shopman1 bowtie to find f/s as I missed the previous g/s.
  7. This came out very nice. I like the appearance much better than the original, it brings that pop a lot more like stated.
  8. Have not driven my truck in a long time to take some photos, got it washed and added some 3M glaze on the paint. It may look grated due to a bad cell phone camera but I enjoyed taking the pictures most. Also added pictures the day I got my truck back when a new Stingray merged into the same lane.
  9. You and Jason have me sold, I need to get some. I've always admired your paint in your sig as well as Jason's. I just finished a coat on a sedan and it was very easy for application. I do like this stuff just need to check over my detail in the morning. Is it usually only for red paint? I am just looking at the label now and seeing the red hood on the label...I should have payed more attention to the color! Thank you CD.
  10. ^I remember you mentioning surf city before and I was really interested. Considering the 3 series I am detailing is just about the same color as your truck, I may be in touch about where to get the Surf City. Thank you Jason for the kind words on the return
  11. I like Meguiar's products, my dealership uses the heavy veneer paste wax. I just happen to have great luck with Nu Finish and its results; amazing shine and protection that lasts me a good 2 months (I add about 2-3 coats). Granted it's not an easy product to hand wipe off that is for sure! I Just hope this Meguairs protection is as good as the Nu Finish. Already polished/glazed it with 3M about a week ago.
  12. I grabbed 2 bottles of Meguairs "Professional Hi-Tech Yellow Wax 26" and was curious if anyone has any experience with it? I usually go with Nu Finish as I always get great results and long lasting protection. This Meguiars is claiming great paint protection. Again just checking to see if I am wasting my time. Thank you in advance.
  13. Thank you Muggs and TXblkss, being back on the site is great but being able to drive the truck again in a long time is awesome . Jason my phone is working now it was MIA for a month but back up again
  14. ^^ I am doing better and my face is finally healed. Pain will remain for up to 2 years on my face but have some more important things to go through soon. Thank you as always A, I may be in contact about some things pending some results
  15. It's a damn shame my cancer prevented me from buying this truck from 2BFast and left it in the garage. I have not followed this entirely as I just returned, but to here this truck has gone down the toilet is seriously stomach turning. Now my mom wants to sell her 3 series to get another SSS I am just left shaking my head.
  16. I have a torn labrum also. A lot of other issues going on which has scared multiple surgeons (including the Celtics head shoulder surgeon) away from my chances at a fix. I am lucky as I have stenosis so it keeps my shoulder in the socket. I know people who have had that surgery done but it was by the US Ski team surgeon....also know someone who had a botched labrum surgery and he cant do much with his hand now...like stated I believe its the quality of the surgeon and how bad off the shoulder is. With it being a less of the major issue I really question is it worth it. 4 years out I am very happy not doing mine. I was looking at a max 2 year recovery. My question is, did the dr say you need this without you mentioning it or did you go to him complaining of pain? I have a few questions myself also. I really hope things go well.
  17. Thank you guys for the well wishes and supprt, this site is great and shows a lot of people care about each other. I may have not been able to post but I have been watching the site somewhat. I would like to thank one member specifically as he sent me a get well package while I was in the midst of $hit. He actually sent me the package twice as my mailing address was changed and it was sent back to him. He quickly got it back to me. I have not seen such an act of kindness from someone I have never spoken to or met, thank you sincerely D1. I will pass the favor on. He is a class act just like stated. I am glad to be back to say the least
  18. Welcome to the site. As far as the fogs, some members just buy regular Silverado fog lights and install them in the air ducts. Personally not my thing, but as always to each their own. I like one members idea of TBSS fogs under/on the side of our front plates.

One mean machine. Looks amazing man. Love how you contoured the front lip.
  20. Anyone heard of times for saturdays party in Boston? I remember the 04 parade, it was crazy. Seriously, what size was that bottle of champagne Ortiz had in the clubhouse?
  21. Let me know price also, I am happy with the gold colored bowtie with my SS stickers going on the stock emblem soon. Once you let me know price I have to get quotes to have it painted/leaflet gold and paint the black SS on Shopman's quality product. You should ask him to bring back the chrome duct grilles, and the wheel well protectors!! I would be down for them all. Am moving very soon so I will be all over place. If this turns serious before I am move I will give you personal contact info.
  22. Definetly gave me a good laugh to start the day off Ambassador Hope all goes well and you get the job.
  23. Thank you as always Alan, you have been a big help with a select few other members to help me revive this truck. You know you will be one of the select few to create a SSS train to drive around MA if winter allows when before January. I promise some start up vids to other members that have helped me beyond the call of duty. They are just true SSS fam like myself that just have more knowledge. Thank you to you all, when this truck screams WOT I know the melanoma will sh*t itself into recluse. Got some Motul brake fluid today, almost their. LQ9/Silverado SS<Melanoma
