  1. Nice. Do yourself a favor and have the front diff and tranny checked out by a local dealerhsip and see if you could get a warranty, what they say/respond to will be important because if they dont want to, something might be going on in one of those 2 areas(weak points on these trucks). Will they be willing to do the 100k service for free, or has it been done? Private, dealer? These trucks seem to be holding value great. I guess 20grand for mine with 64k is too cheap. Good luck with the purchase!
  2. Id rock that anyday of the week. I would also take that over a lowered truck 24/7 365 1/4 days a year. EekRoar is right, I would not have 20s on it. That truck would downright just be unstoppable in the snow. To each their own

    Sinr98 Build Part 1

With this being called the "devil in the front" build, you should get your plate tags "666" That 408 and twins will be a bamf setup.
  4. You make it look ezaaay! I went to Ziebart near me and they wanted 15grand to do an undercarraige. Said "thanks" and walked out....I think that included basically take the truck apart and piecing it back together but I wouldnt trust them with that job. I plan on taking the spare wheel and tow package off, ill have to get some people to help me take the bed off and get the undercarriage done nicely. My neighbor did his Sierra Pro Sport with Por15 and he drove it in the corrosiveness here and undercarriage still looked new. I know I have a few spots to be touched up, nothing bad though.
  5. I see now. Thank you Mr. P!
  6. First let me say this could have gone in a couple different sections such as tuning, drivetrain and electrical. Now this may seem a stupid question, but with all the capabilities tuning can do, I thought maybe with the AWD trucks is it possible to change the power split ratio? I believe it is 32/68 from factory? Or is the power split ratio basically the transfer case and locked that way like AWD is compared to a 4x4? I look at a 4wd truck and was wondering if you have it in 2wd, you get all the power still to the rear wheels, correct? And once you switch to 4wheel the power is split through the transfer case to the front diff and the rear basically loses some power to the front? Then again I was telling myself if this was possible it would have already been done (tweaking the power ratio). This question 1st started off simple, but the more I thought about it I am confusing myself.......my meds for my shoulder arent helping make sense of this question either. I know a decent amount in bolt-ons, but trying to broaden my horizon out to tuning and engine internals now that I have my setup/goal down and ready to start collecting parts. Thank you in advance everyone. -A
  7. Anything going on Barney? Did you get out the house and get a beer or see a movie? Make any calls to chat with someone? If you dont want to talk publicly, shoot me a PM. Not good to see a fellow SSer like this. You really should go to the LVD meet, thatll take your mind off stuff.
  8. We need you up here in the northeast to do that so our trucks wont rust! Only remedy to that is not driving it in the sand and salt.
  9. Congrats on the new. Their good looking trucks. GM makes great engines, but I wouldnt want to mess with the 8.1-8.3 Viper engine. Thats going to be my next purchase srt-10 nite runner.
  10. Drive less than 20 seconds down the roads up here and the frame, undercarriage and rims are totalled. Not my thing at all but to each his own. I have to say sadly the my favorite trucks were the Tundra RCSB and Black Lightning with normalish sized rims.
  11. Youtube is your answer. Check out vids on their, everyone has different taste. Sounds like you want a deep tone system, Magnaflow or Borla is a good choice. If you want the best imo, go with Billy Boat but you will drop over a grand on it. Customer service is stuck up, so thats the only negative I have come across with them.
  12. I just pay regular insurance, and since its driven less than a 5000 miles a year I get alot of the insurance money back. Just have to show them the milage right before they cover it, and when the coverage expires I bring it back and their not too happy writing me out a check
  13. Cheers and congrats! You have also helped out newbs like me with my question about the Lingenfelter 160 thermo.
  14. Saw it on the news, but didnt know their was a show. That is some crazy stuff. Im not trying to make fun of her but if anyone follows South Park this reminds me of the Scott Tenerman episode and another episode where Cartman drinks Kenny's ashes thinking it was chocolate milk powder. I have to agree with the eating disorder, I couldnt even mention food around my ex.
  15. That would be sweet on a bullbar. Saw a setup like that and I love it on the bullbar. Theirs no other way to mount it though besides the tow hooks? Could it be welded on? Id rather see those on a bar they would look funny on the body.
  16. That is just one mean truck. If Chevy every produced the SS 2wd RCSB, yours should be the prototype. However with AWD I need the EC so I wouldnt flip it so easily (long wheel base keeps it on the ground).
  17. Hell no, their tearing you a new one. You can go grab an SSI alot cheaper than that with less milage. Ive been keeping my eye out as I want one also. I am set on an SSI, but if I dont find a deal I like, I will be getting a Srt-10, a true sport truck and only 400 or 200 made in the special edition I am looking at. I cant wait to sell my house, got the trucks waiting. Put it this way, their is an SSI in Bristol, CT with less than 100 miles. He wanted 30 or 33grand. You need to find other deals and get this guy down, unless he is willing to flip the bill for a complete 100k service which should run around a grand (I did my 100k service at 50k miles and it was $750).
  18. "no corners were cut, this was done by professionals" yet he has a Diablo Programmer I think that sums it up.
  19. I had a crappy breakup in May, love of my life so far. One thing I learned, my SS is always their ready for some TLC wether it be a detail or just my friends drooling over it. I do agree at some point you need outside help. No need to ashamed of that, you should be proud you can admit something is missing in your life. You dont want things to get worse, try a therapist. Hell, when I went to mine we almost wound up going to the strip club (hes cool beans). It certainly wont hurt to chat with a therapist. You need to get the LVD meet also, the guys on here are fun stuff and that weekend will your get mind off the bad. My best advice is take up a small hobby. Build a garden, do something to the truck, have a big ass fire, anything to get you out of the house will help. Get in to see a therapist also my friend.
  20. Their was another member, use to be in state here but is not anymore and he did the ducts a dark red and it looked amazing. I cant produce the pics becuase my comment to him was off topic. When I 1st got the truck that was the 1st thing I wanted to do. I recomend an very, very dark red. Its almost black. I do agree that red used on the SSI is a bit too much. Just photoshop it and you will find the right color.
  21. Yes!!! Awesome buddy, glad to hear this. Now go Ace that shit!!!
  22. x10 You make pimpin' look E Zay!!!! Glad to hear it wasnt a heart breaker. Im taking the shots anyway because mine was a heartbreaker!
  23. Effin Verizon, never liked them, never will. At least I won in court a $800 cell bill that wasnt mine and they blamed me. I hope you and Keith pull through. You got my support. Comcast is next, damn Monoply. I cant stand the Dish people either, customer service is crap. Things are really going down the shittah quick these days.
  24. Someone did convert an SS into a manual transmission and it was a waste. Truck is too heavy. Paddle shift for the win, which is my plan with a TVS 2300.
  25. Congrats man! Im coming up on my 3 year (my other name lost the password to. In total Im around 3500 posts). However Ive had the truck 7 years, first 5 years was too busy enjoying it to be near a computer. But Ive gained so much knowledge from hear that backed up what the dealer was telling me.
