OMG, it's tied up, this is gonna be a close one. Good luck.

GM goodwrench 1/2" here.
-
How many hp did that add?
-
Adjusted the headlights, last time I drove it I got flashed 3 times in 10 minutes on rural roads. Plus I picked some leaves off of it, they love to hide themselves under the windshield wipers. Hopefully I'll get to drive it tomorrow, might finally hit 46k.
-
Yeah, that's Nate's, from gmt, pickup. You can see it here.
On another note, it's nice to see that GM finally quit with those cheesy chrome clad rims on the texas edition pickups and started using real aluminum ones.

No, I agree with you. I run 93 myself of course I run 11-1 compression. But when I was stock with 9.5-1 compression I got better gas mileage with 87 running stock timing than I did with 93 octane and increased timing. And it seemed to have better torque. But the everyday normal person probably wouldn't notice a difference between running 87 and 93 octane in their ss. My thoery is that with a lower compression engine, running high timing is useless because it won't knock until it's over min. best torque. But, it's just that, a theory, you'd know way more than I on the subject.
-
No problems here, but I only have 6000 kelvin temp. color hids.
-
If you like poor performance, worse fuel economy, and detonation.
I doubt the worse fuel economy and detonation as I'm sure the pcm will learn to pull timing back for 87, but I do agree SOME power will be lost. But, you're the expert, not me.

Rockers aren't worth the gains, IMO(if you want more lift do it with a cam). Neither is an intake on the stock cam. I'd wait until the rebuild to do anything else to the engine, then throw a cam and some 243's or maybe even go with some milled l92 heads and intake.
-
When you click the high it keeps the low beams on as well, keeps your hid from turning on and off quickly if you flash your brights. Plus it makes the high beams brighter, being assisted by the hids. The way it is now, the lows are probably brighter than the highs.
Here's the wirteup I used the first time I did it on a pickup for somebody, couldn't be any easier.
-
You got both backwards the first time, some luck that is. One thing about those 03-06 housings and hids is they glare like crazy, get ready for the flashing. Do the 4hi mod and keep your hand on the lever at night.
-
There's nothing wrong with running 87 in a 10-1 compression engine.
-
If you didn't give a shit, you wouldn't have painted it.
-
Love the idiotic " hate the checkerboard paint " comments. It's call camo, all automakers use it to try to disguise cars and I can't believe these idiots don't know that.
@ Mr. 3/4 ton SS - it's just a vinyl wrap.
The funny part they even explain the camo lol...
Huh, good info. I didn't even watch the whole video.

He's talking bout' one of dem' der iphones. Paint job looks pretty cool, I like that kinda matte finish, makes it look sorta badass. Reminds me of a chevelle paint job for some reason. Maybe I've been watching too much fast and furious, IDK.

Nice mode of transportation you got there, almost looks like a vho with those rims.
-
Yeah they run pretty good. A few of my buddy's are hard core diesel junky's. i've seen some fast ass trucks up here. like 10sec trucks. diesel's are big up here. but with my SS being boosted i have never lost to one. i've had some damn close race's but me being AWD it helps a lot. they try to spool it up at a light but they don't get good traction. i've seen a few guys load them up off the line and launch in 4wd and break driveshafts.
Wow, breaking a driveshaft, never heard of that one. A front diff, all the time, but a driveshaft, wow. Tons of built dury's around here as well, with their propane kits and whatnot. Although there are a just as many that high school kids were given that just aren't crap. But they think they are.

Is it paint or is it a vinyl wrap, looks like vinyl to me.
-
Those tuned duramax's will still beat you even with a little boost. Especially on the low end. I just wonder what that thing would've done if it didn't have such tall tires on it.
-
Sounds like to me you need to replace your stock thermostat with another stock thermostat.

I'd dump the bose and run new door speakers.

He's not using ANY adapter.

Stock look for an SS = Best, IMO. Although I do like the gray rims and not the chrome ones. If it didn't have that license plate on the front, it would be tits.
