same here. put them on when i was living on Long Island and never took them off. i have to deal with dirt here dirt roads dirt drive dirt parking lots and when it rains, it's mud all over

when your exhaust was wielded up, did they disconnect your battery a lot of amps being used when welding, and a lot of components in our trucks are voltage/amperage sensitive, maybe your O2s just got fried good luck

you should be able to find a rust bucket beater on the island there for cheap . here people want 5-6k for a 10-15 year old Honda so i picked up a 08 Chevy Aveo LT for $13k getting 38 mpg cheaper than driving the SS. but mod at your pace with a DD and do it right the first time.. good luck

i have the same here in the high desert in So Cal. all i can say is get use to it, i did just keep an eye on the filter more often. I'll check mine every oil change. with the volant scoop i have it will get bad, just sitting and not driving it. wind here will blow 20-35 mph here (called a light breeze here ) for a couple of days and the dust just gets into everything just clean it a little more often... welcome to the club..

if you are looking for clear factory lens (with out amber reflectors) find someone who dose it, or find a GM distributor who deals in off shore sales. amber reflectors are federal DOT requirement on all North America vehicles sold. amber delete are a dime a dozen in the middle east on new GM trucks. good luck

also don't forget the dielectric grease for the plug wire boots, and anti seize compound for the plug threads..you will thank me next time you change them out..

NO..have not, and will not.. when mine went bad, i was told by GM that they will be fixed on a case by case only. hoping that it happens out of warranty. mine was "fixed" a couple of times until they found a good one that they took out of another SS that a engineer from GM was driving. so far, 48,000 mi after repairs and still good.
