  1. maybe you have a injector(s) leaking a little and fouling your plugs just enough to throw a code when you first start it up. that also might explain the black smoke..
  2. take a volt meter and check on voltage out put at the battery. should be 14-14.5 volts. you can also check on the back of your alt. your positive connection should be just a little higher than what you get at the battery, maybe about .3 volts more. if your only getting about 13 volts or less, then check your cable ends for corrosion, clean as necessary. if no change, your voltage regulator is going bad time to replace.. if you decide to take the truck to a place to have it checked when the truck is running, have them also do a load test on your battery.. good luck
  3. this stuff works then have his nuts removed, and when your buddy recoups from it, have him take his cat in to be done also..
  4. damn bitches have NO sense of humor at all they can say something, and deny ever saying it , but you say something and it's held over your head every day for the next 20 yrs..
  5. short bed.. i was looking into buying trailers back in 04 when i was relocating back to CA. every RV dealer i went to stated i could not pull a 5th wheel with the SS. so i ask WHY.. and all there charts stated because of the 6' bed there would not be enough clearance between the cab and the front of the trailer when turning more then 45-55* left or right..the ONLY way you could pull a 5th wheel with our short beds, is to get a slider hitch, which would allow you to slid the king pin plate back far enough to make sharp turns, then slid it forward when you complete your turn. BIG down fall is it's price, and most RV dealers will sell them, but NOT install them due to liability reasons.. goose neck, same reason, except if you have no front overhang on the trailer you will be good.. good luck
  6. i would not use a screwdriver get a 5 lb. hammer and a set of roll punches large enough to drive the stud out. PB plaster/WD40 spray both sides good. then beat the crap out of it and should come right out i have had some on large trucks that it took only a couple hits and they came out... good luck
  7. they have been doing it for a few years now, road side spot checks. about 3 yrs. ago they tested a portable inferred testing machine that would take HC-CO readings as you drive by, giving them cause to pull you over as A GROSS POLLUITOR, then the tech. inspections begin...
  8. I'll take earthquakes any day. when we were having all the quakes out here in the 90s after a while you knew how big it was by the feel, and you would say, it's a 4.5, and just roll over and go back to sleep i feel that a earthquake still dose less damage over all..
  9. it may be cheaper in the long run on gas, insurance and maint. but how many days a year do you have bike weather? it must really bite riding in the rain when you left it was sunny, how much snow and cold below 50* every year?? some things to consider
  10. sound more like they were getting their first piece of round eye..
  11. spend the extra money and get good hardend studs, and replace all 24 of them. and like above antiseize
  12. making a false statement in court??? Bubba young boys.. you know what YOU really need is to talk with a lawyer, and not some kids hear say from another 17 year old.. ................................................................................ ............................................................. He didn't get me for speed because it doesn't say on the ticket and my radar did not go off witch means he didn't have his on. And sadly yea it is in a school zone, it was literally a block away from the front of my school. ................................................................................ ............................................................... well, I'm not a cop. but i sure can tell when someone is going over 15 mph in a school zone with out radar.. did you pass on the left side or right side of him?? my last advice on this..IF you pull stupid stunts like this again, REMEMBER ALWAYS clear the rear before you do. that cop was right behind you if you would of looked, you might of seen him and we would not be talking like this..
  13. the pedal acts like a rheostat don't know if the connection inside can be cleaned. as for the bouncing, if you remove the pedal assembly, look behind it and there is a spring that holds the pedal up. you can remove that spring and replace it with a little stiffer one. you don't need much to correct the ease in which the pedal moves..
  14. will not do, but this WILL.....
  15. true, but i would find out first what you are facing from a good lawyer. you are lucky, here reckless, careless driving, and he could of gotten you for speed also. was this in the school zone? or other road?..being 17 yrs old your driving privileges in CA could/would be revoked up to your 21, depending on the judge.. good luck
  16. my 03 shipping weight was 5050 lb. when i registered it in CA it was 5550 3/4 fuel, rhino liner, Gaylord speedster cover, stock factory wheels
  17. this is my feeling on big oil.... 6 hp . custom wheels . large storage space (for all your junk) . retractable soft top . out side seating, (when she has PMS) . if one breaks down...BBQ . go back to real horse power..
  18. only bad thing i see is big oil will never let it happen..and the price of food will go up worse then it is now with E-85. but a very good idea
  19. i was paying .29 per gal. to put gas in my first car, and YES i had to crank start it...1915 ford model T no top, no seats, had to sit on a milk crate, paid $10.00 for it, best fun car i ever owned
  20. 4157 ALL amber long life are what you want..
  21. the jimmi jammer will only slow them down a little, if they know what there doing. using a slim jim on doors is very old school. most newer vehicles have them built into the doors now. from experience, GM trucks are the easiest vehicles to get into, takes me about 30 sec. to get in with no damage at all...best thing is a kill switch somewhere or keep full coverage on all the high tec sound system that they can see Thur the window when they walk by screaming out, HAY, LOOK AT ME...steal me..
  22. you have to remember also your dealing with parts that are 38 years old.. my advice would remove all the Axel studs, and spray break cleaner in the stud holes and compressed air to clean them out good. check the threads out REAL good. if need run a tap Thur carefully and and clean again. if any are stripped you can try a helicoil to repair it, or you may need to go to the next larger stud. when you reassemble everything put some loctite on the studs when installing...IMO.. i would NOT use bolts, if bolts would have worked, then they would have used bolts to begin with...also get new grade 8 lock washers and nuts and replace all. sorry i can't be more help.. BTW..when you have it all apart and cleaned, look for stress cracks around your stud holes if there cracking, you may want to think about replacing the rear..
