  1. theres a series of shows that runs on discovery HD called futurecar and they touched on hydrogen power. it is the best eventual solution, the problem is infrastructure to support it... in other words converting all gas stations to hydrogen stations. Its crazy b/c a hydrogen powered car uses only a portion of the energy that the fuel creates you could actually plug your car into your house at the end of the day and power it off of the reserves. The only emmission is water... clean drinkable water... that alone is insane.
  2. Man... that needle gets up there QUICK!!
  3. The GT is a good looking car... but a real disappointment performance wise IMO... Ford should be ashamed of themselves for letting that car out into the world so ill prepared to battle the vette. When they charge what they do for that thing it damn well better be able to keep up with a z06 at half the price, but its not even close. Then when you factor in the ZR1 ford should've taken the GT design team out behind the wood shed and shot em.
  4. Yup... pretty shitty situation. There were some groups that didn't like him, I always got good responses and fast shipping from him when I did order. Hes been an institution around the web on a bunch of forums for a very long time.... everything from GMFS to corvette forums, Tbyrne was active on all of them and liked by most IMO. Wonder what happened to all that inventory?? Maybe someone will buy the business outright and pick up where he left off.
  5. Good stuff man.... I love Adams and with the death of DER stuff its my only product (beside a few optimum things) that I use. Word of warning on the Buttery Wax... its has a notoriously short lifespan... reapply and layer it heavily over the next few weeks to build it up. A single app of it will be gone quickly. Adams Machine Superwax holds up MUCH better, but isn't effective unless you're working with a machine polisher so keep that in mind. But you gotta love the way buttery smells... mmmm... reminds me of a tropical drink or something you'd get with an umbrella in at while on vacation The MSW also has a much deeper/rich shine to it IMO, buttery is good, but MSW is just an improvement over that: Either way looks great. Congrats on doing a great job.
  6. There has to be something wrong here... you're using a BSER pan correct?? There is a pretty substantial gap between the gate and the top of the pan so I'd check to make sure everything is installed correctly... maybe the shop mounted the pan too high?
  7. HAHA... now my brakes look really pathetic. Thanks a lot JERK!! Looking forward to spending some quality time on your truck this weekend Chase... gimme a shout when you get a chance so we can talk time. Also, turns out I'll be heading out to the show on the 9th... so we can drink some brews!!
  8. In that case... heres a couple more for ya!! I pulled the belltechs out and sold them (adjustable coilovers are on their way!!) for now its got the DJM kit w/ stock springs... so the fronts up a little less than an inch from where it was with the belltechs, but it aligned to factory specs no problem so I have room to go back down when the coilovers get here... thinking another 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch should be perfect. I believe there was a point right after I bought this thing I swore I wasn't gonna spend a ton of money on it... I'm gonna have over $1000 into suspension alone here soon... then theres the brakes, audio, tune, lighting, gauges.... aw shit its the Silverado all over again!!
  9. Not feeling the rip off Ferrari ass end at all... and only 542hp?? thats what... a 37hp bump over stock?? Easily done to any Z06 w/ a set of longtubes and a tune... probably gain just as much or more. Not overly impressed.... but it is different so you could give it some style points. At least its nice to see the plastic fantastic has fans on the other side of the pond as well.
  10. This may require me to bring the SLR and the video camera to document... I may need someone to do the driving of the TBSS so I can lean out the window and get good rolling footage of everyone.
  11. Do what I did... have a "Tool Party" or "Man Shower" (not as gay as it sounds) on the day of her bridal shower. Invite all the husbands/boyfriends of the women who will be attending her shower to attend... admission is a useful tool. I got stuff like a sawzall, drills, etc when I had mine. For their generous gift you provide them with a place to watch sports, drink beer, eat pizza, and be men while the woman have their bridal shower. I've thrown these for a couple of my buddies now before their weddings and its always fun.
  12. The edges are rough and will need to be finished, so if you're not a body guy its best left to a pro to take care of.
  13. Good point... but I'd limit it to a Dmax powered GM or a Cummings powered Dodge... don't nobody wanna deal with a powerCHOKE from Ford.
  14. Not sure what you're trying to say here... If you use Sport Truck or Truckin' mags to define sport truck then I don't know what to tell you... both of those mags have gone to shit and feature more boats than trucks lately. IMO SUV's fall into the "truck" category.... being that the Jeep Grand Cherokee is an SUV it would qualify as a truck in my mind... add to it the 500hp SRT8 package and I believe you have a pretty sporty suv I don't think its "a jeep thing" I think its a HOLY SHIT THATS A FAST SUV thing.
  15. Only problem w/ Ricky & Ronnies is finding a day where there isn't another run going there... I have yet to go there and NOT see a huge gathering of other cars. If thats the case we won't have room to park... and that place does get CROWDED!!
  16. If I were to get rid of the TBSS for another manufactures "halo" brand... i'd probably go with a Jeep SRT8.
  17. Problem with Pasadena is that theres not gonna be many places we can all park together. Couple of my best friends live there and anytime I head down there on a weekend parking is a fight... I end up spending a small fortune to get into a parking structure or have to run down to the street every couple hours to reload the meter. We did a couple of ShowTruckScene.com meets in Pedro... theres a bitchin spot that overlooks the ocean at this park... only thing is you have to get there EARLY and take it over if you want to keep it from getting over run by other people. Heres the shots from our first event there in January 05 http://www.showtruckscene.com/events/2006/...eet/stsmeet.php
  18. I'm up for pretty much anything... definitely need to plan to have enough time/light for photos.
  19. Guess I'm just kinda wishing SSS and TBSS owners were more like the vette crowd... anytime, anywhere I'm driving or riding shotgun in my dads vette all other vette owners waive or acknowledge eachother.
  20. I'm not accusing this group of being this way, but it seems of all the Silvy SS's I see... and I see a lot around here... I never get any acknowledgment. I always go out of my way to waive, nod, or at least give a thumbs up to any Silvy SS I see, but for the most part all I get are blank stares or just flat out ignored.
  21. Why not go over, introduce yourself, and ask them politely to refrain from parking their cars in front of your mailbox. Seems silly to bitch about how you hate them without even trying to resolve it first. If you ask and they continue to do it then I understand and fully condone you taking a large steamy shit on the hood of their car every morning until they stop.
  22. Honestly she doesn't do shit for me... I just don't see the appeal.
  23. I swear man... that dude w/ the esky is probably at a speed shop right now spending money on upgrades
  24. repost x 100,000,000,002 but worth it every time shit... the Z06 was already a viper/ford GT killer... the ZR1 is a damn world killer... short of something like a Bugatti theres not much on the street that'll be able to keep up with the ZR1.... and its not like you're gonna run into too many bugatti's.
  25. DJM A-Arms and strut mount relocator, Belltech 1" drop springs and just moved the autoride sensors for the airride in the back. Feels a little bit floaty in the rear b/c the bags are at such a low PSI, front taps on bigger bumps, but nothing bad. I'm probably gonna just add the adjustable coilovers in the front so I can bring it up a 1/2" for clearance. Only big concern is alignment. The front is cambered out a bit and I'm not sure I can get it all the way back into alignment w/ it this low so I might have to add the coilovers regaurdless to keep from killing my tires. Har-de-har-har. Getting it this low makes it painfully obvious how badly I need 22's and a low profile tire.
