  1. Don't give them a full tank, it will be emptied by the time they are done doing the "required test drives" But seriously, if you have a lot of dirt on the engine, it would not hurt to clean it off so the dirt won't be falling into the intake ports while they work.
  2. Looks like somebody is overcompensating for other short-comings in his life....
  3. Here in California, we only get the "Taxes Edition"
  4. Point Mugu State Beach has a couple cool campgrounds. Sycamore Canyon, nice camping for tents and RVs, back in the trees. Trail head to the canyon hiking and mountain biking is at the end of the campground. Thornhill Broome is right on the beach, more RV oriented but tents are ok. The kids we saw were having a blast playing on the beach. The only bad thing is PCH is close to the campsites and the noise of cars and trucks might be annyoing in a tent. The beach is mostly rocky, with some sand towards the campsites. Over the years, kids have built stone ring forts. The forts are cool places to watch the sunset from.
  5. The great thing about carrying a spare belt is it almost garrantees you won't need it ! I have carried a spare for 50,000 miles and never needed it
  6. The bypass valve is what switches the engine between Normally Aspirated and Supercharged. It does not change the amount of boost available, that is determined by the pulley size. You could change how soon it closes, but that would just affect how smoothly things operated. It would not affect a full throttle run.
  7. I have a Health-o-Meter scale. Only 19% fat, which sounds about right. Tanita is also a good brand.

    Gas Mileage

I find the cruise control is too agressive at trying to maintain your speed to do well at maximizing MPG. You have to do the age old technique of "driving like you have an egg between your foot and the gas pedal" and keep the speed down. I have managed to get 19 MPG on a trip to San Diego, but as soon as I hit the mountains, the average took a big hit back to 15 MPG. But it is hard on me to drive like that
  9. Looks like the sort of thing that would get ripped off everytime I went to the store
  10. Just double checked mine, it is 4 CFM, not 40. Should have turned on the light the first time so I could have seen the "." For the rachet I have, 4 CFM is not enough.
  11. Don't focus on the PSI, look at the CFM ratings. I have a smaller 2.5 gallon compressor that can do 4 CFM, but it is not enough to run a ratchet for more than a couple seconds. Check the CFM requirments of air tools you want to use, then check that against the CFM capability of the compressor you are considering.
  12. "Gyn"? as in gynecologist? As for me, I want to loose 10 lbs and start doing some upper body workouts. All this bike riding is great for the heart and legs, but leaves the upper body neglected.
  13. At least the SS is right side up
  14. Why was that a mistake? I liked it
  15. Too bad it is being sold by somebody with zero feed back, buying or selling. That will keep the price low, as few will risk buying from somebody with no feedback. It could be legit, but it sounds a bit risky.
  16. Looks like you got a theme going there... ;)
  17. Check out RCGroups, lots of info there: http://www.rcgroups.com This is pretty cool too: The Electric Helicopter Beginner's Guide v17
  18. There are ice chest like products that you put in the bed of the truck, and run the intercooler fluid through the ice in them to cool things down more than a heat exchanger can. Look at products made for the Lightning. Here are some air conditioning type and a peilter junction type http://www.coolflow.com/ http://www.decolabs.com/ and a peltier junction type http://www.killerchiller.com/
  19. At 22, you have no idea what getting old is You only start to understand around 40, joints start creaking, eyes stop working right, and it takes a lot more work to stay in shape.

    Towing?

Towing my 4500 lb trailer, I just leave it in drive with the tow/haul mode on, and let the computer figure it out, at least for flat lands. Going uphill, if it is steep and long, I will put it in 3 to keep the RPMs up and the manifold vacuum up. I do this to keep the supercharger from kicking in, as I don't think running boost for half an hour at a time would be good . Interestingly, the MPG is about the same in drive or 3 when going up steep roads, like 4 MPG going up the Grapevine into Los Angeles I suppose slowing down would help, but who wants to do that? - Just noticed you are in Florida, so you probably don't even know what a mountain is...
  21. You may want to look into a "trial by written declaration". This allows you to submit your case in writting to the judge, rather than rely on you public speaking skills (or lack thereof). http://www.helpigotaticket.com/ http://www.ticketassassin.com/
  22. I got a few of these early this year on Ebay. Saw a couple current listings on Ebay, but they were for a brown and green SS I did find a guy selling a blue SS on an Ebay store, though: 2005 MATCHBOX TOY #54 - " CHEVY SILVERADO SS PICKUP " Here is a Black SS in the "superfast" version Matchbox Superfast #13 CHEVROLET SILVERADO SS (MIB)
  23. Nooooo.... Gently warming. Like with hot water. Or perhaps a blow dryer, but it will take a while to heat it through and your fingers will get uncomfortable holding it. Just don't get it any hotter than it comfortable to hold, otherwise, as you mentioned, you could melt it.
  24. Actually, that is your On-Star antenna. Have you tried warming it and then bending it back? Hold a corrective bend until it cools off.
