  1. Nice to see you kept your truck addiction alive...FWIW, I remember when shorts like that were in style lol (along with striped white tube socks )
  2. Thanks everybody! I'm really happy with the results, it's really fun to drive now. The wife likes it too, now she doesn't need a running start to get in (especially now that she's entering her 7th month of pregnancy!) I have to get to doin some debadging and smooth it out a bit
  3. You did the right thing...honesty and integrity are great qualities in a person. I like kj019830's idea of a $1000 jackass fine though
  4. I'll be there...gone a few times. My buddy's brother gets the tickets from work (I think he works for Coors or something ), there's gonna be six of us all together. Leavin the truck at his house and we're all jumpin in a Toyota Sienna I think. Gonna be gettin up early! I have to be at his house for 6:00 am, then we're heading out, gettin some coffee and breakfast, and takin it from there. Supposed to be around 76* and partly cloudy, hope the forecast is right
  5. Just a little update...I was able to get the truck on the alignment rack today at the Toyota Dealership where my buddy's the foreman. Aside from whacking my head and re-opening the cut that I obtained last week while doing the install , it went pretty smoothly. I was able to just get the alignment where I wanted it, and what a difference in handling it made. Just as I thought, the camber and toe were way out, but the caster was within specs. Camber was at -1.3 on both sides, it was .4" toed out, and caster was an even 5.2 on both sides. After the alignment, I was able to get camber up to -.5 on the left and -.6 on the right, total toe to .05", and caster to 3.9 L and 4.0 R. I would have liked some more caster, but once I got the camber where I wanted it, that's where caster ended up, so I let it fly. We also mounted my winter meats on my factory wheels...275/70R-16 Toyo Open Country AT's. Now I'm just waiting for the front bumpstops to arrive and it's a done deal (orderd factory rubber ones that I'm not gonna cut to short this time). Oh yea, and I have to get the speedo recalibrated. I took the wife out for a nice 2 hour ride tonight and it was great. The truck rides smoothly, handles well, and I haven't experienced any vibrations on the highway (I have 4* pinion angle shims on the bench just in case). It was fun as hell to finally really drive it without being worried about burning up the inner edge of the tires. Hard bumps and washboard roads are a little harsh, but for the most part it's smooth as butter
  6. Great pics man, thanks for sharing! It's nice to see other cultures
  7. LOL, I've been hearing alot of that lately
  8. LOL, half way, with the mirrors folded in....now that I lowered it
  9. Yea, it's definitely tiny....most work gets done in the driveway It's more functional for storing my tools and working under the hood, or under the rear than anything else. If I have to work with the doors open (like interior or audio work), that definitely happens outside. Some day I plan to have my own (instead of borrowing my in-law's), and do the same theme....only bigger
  10. Hopefully I'll have the time after work Tuesday to align my truck after just dropping it with Belltech keys, 2" Belltech shackles, and removing the rear lift blocks. The front camber is noticeably negative, and it appears to be toed out also. I'm not sure if the adjustment cams are gonna give me enough movement to get the camber into or close to spec or not. I've done some research and found out that the SS's allow for up to -.6* of camber in the front, and I'm hoping to achieve that, but if I can't, how far do you think I can go before it turns into a major issue? I know that camber has to be pretty extreme before it'll give you a tire wear issue, just not sure how much is too much on a truck. Thanks in advance!
  11. Sounds mean...nice looking truck too, unique and tastefully done
  12. Looks real good man....nice pics of the Bay Area too
  13. Thanks for the compliments! Just updated my sig....
  14. I was thinking about selling all 5 for around $400 plus shipping, or best offer I'm flexible...
  15. They gave me the green light to go ahead and basically do what I want. Started off with them letting me store my tools there, then I basically claimed squatter's rights since I started spending most of my Saturday's sifting through piles of crap to access my gear and work on my ride. The place was a mess...no lighting at all, sheetrock crumbling off the walls, beams for a ceiling, and years of useless crap jammed in from the back wall to the garage door. With help from my buddy Jim, we spent a total of about 3 weekends cleaning the crap out, running wires, hanging sheetrock, hanging lights, painting, sheetrocking the ceiling, installing a boxed hatch in the ceiling to access a storage area that we installed a light into and layed some indoor/outdoor carpeting, and finally arranging my tools, gear, etc. and hangind a shelf, cabinet, some pics etc. Unfortunately, my dumbass didn't take any before pics, although my wife did take some "during" pics which I can't find right now. I do have pics of the finished product though.... In this pic you can sort of get an idea of what the mess used to look like: Here's the finished product: Whatcha think?
  16. This is true, I'm gonna have to work on that. The sig will probably take me longer than the install lol...my mechanical skills far exceed my photoshop skills. Thanks Makani Starting to get somewhere with it...slowly. I have a set of heads being worked out a WCCH, and I got the block on a cradle. Gotta get some bolts so I can lift it into my truck and get it to my dad's shop for the once over. I'm also waiting for some parts that were missing from the engine stand that I ordered...hopefully OTC will get them out to me asap. Wifey and I are expecting a baby around Sep 6th (our first, a little girl)...so I'm tryin to get as much done to the truck now while I can...before my mod money turns into diaper money
  17. It's amazing how a different set of wheels and tires and a different stance can totally change the attitude and style of a truck. Today I decided to finally lose the 33's (BFG AT 285/75R-16) and factory wheels, and install my Gibb's 20's wrapped in some 285/50 Toyo Proxes. I also installed Belltech drop torsion keys up front, and removed the rear 4x4 2" lift blocks plus installe Belltech 2" drop spindles. I had a Toyo Open Country AT 275/70R-16 mounted on the steel rim for my spare (the Toyo 20's are 31" tall, and the the 16" AT is 31.1" tall) I still need to get the vehicle aligned, and have the speedo re-calibrated, not to mention, I have some Belltech 4920 bumpstops on the way from Stylin Concepts since I was missing one in the rear, and I cut my front bumpstops just a smidge too much. Even with the bumpstop being too short, the truck rides suprisingly well (just a tad mushy in the front, but the bump stops should cure that), and the alignment is noticably way off. Well, enough blabbering, here's the finished product: Here's what it used to be... BTW, I now have 4 BFG 285/75R-16 All Terrains with less than 15k, and 1 that has Zero miles (it was the spare) that I will be dismounting from the wheels and selling pretty soon. Gonnna get the 275/70R-16's that match the spare and mount em on the factory wheels for the winter.
