  1. Best spring compressor is the Crane/Vinci one by far. It's a little pricey but worth every penny...it's the one that Simon was referring to (does 2 springs at once)
  2. Toyo Proxes 285/50-20's...love em
  3. If you're planning on doing heads, I'd recommend checking out West Coast Cylinder Head (WCCH). Richard really knows his stuff and his customer service is second to none.
  4. I had one prior to my current PCMforLess tune...it was actually pretty decent. It worked well with my baby cam and I felt a noticable difference from stock. Very easy to use also. I have a 5.3 and not an LQ9 6.0 though FWIW... My current tune from PCMforLess is even better than the Crane unit, but I was very impressed with it when I had it.
  5. A little bit of valve lapping compound on the belt will help it to provide grip and keep it from slipping and squeaking.
  6. Looking good Mark, congrats on the ride!!! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for ya around town 1/2 the time lol.
  7. I guit smoking 4 weeks ago, so far so good. As for drinking, it's been somewhere around a year since I stopped...the booze doesn't mix well with some of the meds I'm on
  8. TB spacers are a good place to mount nitrous nozzles, besides that they make pretty paperweights.
  9. I know this is a stretch, but would anybody happen to have any pics of some 03-06 SS shocks next to some 99-up Z71 or regular 4x4 shocks? I'm curious if there's any difference in length, diameter, etc. Wondering if the SS shocks are shorter since the SS's are lower than the Z71/4x4's. Thanks -Billy
  10. Sounds like a broken baffle inside the muffler, unless a piece of one of your cat converters broke off and worked it's way into there. Another idea, if there's a heat shield attached to the muffler, you may have a rock stuck between the heat shield and muffler.
  11. I suppose you could re-use them...makes sense. Personally, I'd have a new set as a backup, just in case. As for the manifold bolts, I've heard mixed reviews about the factory ones. Seems like some guys have used them on their headers with no problems, while others have had them break on their own on their stock manifolds. I've been using the bolts that came with my Gibson shorties that I installed about 6 years ago...I gave them a good coat of anti-sieze upon the original install, and they came right out 5 years later when I ditched the shorties for some nice StainlessWorks longtubes
  12. A bunch of the guys at performancetrucks.net have used and reused theirs with no problems...they look like the aluminum ones pictured in your second link.
  13. The factory exhaust manifold gaskets seem to be the best bet from what I've heard and experienced.
  14. My winter and summer ride are one and the same, only difference are the shoes and socks (285/50 20 Toyo Proxes on Gibbs in summer and 275/70 16 Toyo Open Country AT's on the factory aluminums in winter)
  15. I smoke like a chimney, but never in my truck!
  16. Here's my in-law's garage, they let me use it to store my stuff and do work in their driveway. My friend and I re-finished it last summer, it was a wreck before. It's tiny, I can't fit a vehicle in it, but it keeps my tools dry and is well lit...
  17. You have a beautiful daughter MisterP I'm looking forward to the years to come and teaching Rosie everything that I can, and seeing her interests and encouraging her to follow her dreams. I'm still cherishing every moment that I can now too...like you said, time's already flying by...I can't believe how much she's changed already in just 3 short months. Thanks for sharing the pics Just a few weeks ago I had her beat in the hair department SS Silv, but she caught up and passed me really fast! (thank goodness!) Thanks again everybody!
  18. Thanks man Savanna Rose is a beautiful name
  19. Just wanted to share a few pics of my little princess, Rose Josephine, born August 31st. Words can't explain the the joy and love that Rosie has brought into our lives
  20. I like those valve covers....I was checking them out in the GM Perf parts catalog. Katech makes coil relocatinon brackets also, and I know I've read about longer wires somewhere (possibly LS1Tech.com)
  21. Very nice trucks! I so want a tri-five Chevy truck (drooling as I type)...
  22. Tires look good ChevyMan I like that tread pattern...truck is smooth and clean as always
