  1. Wish you lived closer man, I'd help in a heartbeat. If there's any questions you have, just ask.
  2. If people don't show up it will be fine, just keep the meat in your truck. It will be cold enough.
  3. I'm there, SS or no SS. I purchased the ingredients I need for Callico Baked Beans last night, those will warm you up!!! Do you think we'll need a heater out there? I've got a kerosene one that we can run off and on (to stinky to run full time).
  4. Glad she's doing so great! What even causes the spine to go so bent like that in the first place???
  5. A thief that knows anything about the Chevy door handles will just pop the whole thing out and pull the pin behind it. Those door handles come off so easy it's not even funny... Jimmy Jammer wouldn't do a thing for you.
  6. I had a March serpentine setup on my '70 vette with a 420 stroker and never had any problems... I see them everywhere in the rags and car shows. Can't be all bad.
  7. I'm only going to do the fronts as well. With a pad and line upgrade, the stock disc rears should balance well with the Z06 calipers up front.
  8. Chris's secret is out... he put special fuel lines on it that hold an extra 2 gallons of gas. Learned it from Harry on Days Of Thunder.
  9. Yeah I like my 6000's in high/low. Along with the 4 high mod it's one of my favorite things that make actually driving the truck more fun.
  10. With some of your connections there, would it make sense to open a Cell Phone service store/chain? I know some of the local cell sales crew and they do really well on the sales side of things, so the stores have to be doing just as well or better. By the way, now we've got more to talk about at an Iowa meet. Guitars and Telecom!
  11. Yeah it's out of control... 2.5 years ago when I got this truck gas was well under 2 bucks a gallon (in the 1.80's). Then ever since Katrina it's been a mad dash to top off any time I see it under 3 bucks a gallon.

  13. Gimmie gimmie!!!! What's the price on the front calipers for a fellow SS'er?
  14. One to add to the list HOT ROD POWER TOUR!!! It comes in from Lincoln, NE and stops in Ames this year!!! I am for sure going on the Lincoln and Ames stops, and probably finish out up to Rochester to watch the awards/etc. Maybe next year do the long haul.
  15. The converter being toast would not make hard shifts. Occasional 1-2 hard shifts are usually caused by pressure problems from what I've read, which can be corrected with a few modifications to the valve body (the entry level Trans Go shift kit, the HD2 one too, but it shifts harder). It also gets rid of the code. The kit can be installed without removing the transmission and should have been the FIRST thing any mechanic worth his salt would have done to one of these transmissions at the VERY least because it's such a well known problem for every 4l60/65 transmission out there. Here's the kit on Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4L60E-4L65E...p3286.m20.l1116 or search for P0894 code correction kit and there will be others that pop up. My feeling is that the trans was just not built properly, instead it sounds like you got yourself a totally stock rebuild.
  16. Yeah, it's pretty common to see 30-40K and higher ones on Ebay for well less than 100 bucks.
  17. Any "stock type" performance lockup converter will retain the stock tow rating as long as you upgrade the cooler to a larger than stock unit. The Yank TT2600 and TT3000 are both capable of towing. I got my cooler off of Ebay, can't remember the rating though... perhaps someone else can chime in on what GVW rating to get... I remember mine was more than twice the stock gvw.
  18. Really? You've never heard of March? Their serpentine accessory drive kits get tons of air time on the Spike Power Block, and are in mags all of the time. Super popular with hot rod guys and show vehicles because they're very good looking kits. http://www.marchperf.com/
  19. I've got the TT3000 and LOVE it!!! Even for a daily driver with the stock cam and a few bolt-ons I would recommend the 3000 over the 2600. Living with the 3000 stall around town it drives almost like stock until you go past 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, then it stalls up and you GO LIKE HELL. I had a TB stall (stalled 2600 or so) before and it was nice, but not NEAR as nice as the 3000 Yank.
  20. Rick and his wife (at Prevette's) are both really cool people. I used to work right next door to them at Avtex and used to just walk over and hang out over lunch. Any time they had a really neat new product come in, she would bring it over to our office to show it off to me. I think I save at least 40 bucks a week not working right next door to them any more, LOL! She also took the first picture I had of my SS and hung it on their customer wall a few years ago. I just looked at Prevette's website and it looks like they moved. We'll have to go checkout their new digs!
  21. Take a chance and tell her how you feel. If she's really that good of a friend, she will either jump at the chance to take it to the next level, or on the other hand, she will be a friend enough to stick by you until you realize that she's not the one for you. You can't waste time by loving someone who may or may not love you back. Having these feelings and doing nothing about them is like having a lottery ticket and not checking the numbers... you could win big, or you could be out a buck, but you'll never know unless you check... and you can't win if you don't play!!!!
  22. It's a beautiful thing the first time someone teaches you a controlled wheelie. I can remember my dad teaching it to me at 9 or 10 years old on my 125 Suzuki. He built me a balance platform that would hold the bike at my chosen wheelie angle (with slight movement to left/right/back/forth), then I would sit on it for hours as practice. When it came time to actually ride the wheelie, my body couldn't tell the difference and I would ride all the way around our block on the back wheel (about 1/3 of a mile, 4 turns). I kinda gave up on bikes though, came to close to death for my comfort and can't get it out of my head any time I ride since then. Had to give up my street bikes about 12 years ago (an '83 GS 750E with 905cc big bore, lengthened swingarm/etc., and a '83 GS1150E Turbo with 200+ HP). I miss them sometimes, even just to look at.
  23. scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, tired yet? To bad! scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, scan, run, tune, halfway there... As much of a pain in the but VE tuning is, I can't wait to get back into the truck and start some logging!!!
