  1. Steve, you'll love the stated value policy. I had one on my 70 vette, valued at 22k, and all I had to do was get a collector car appraisal. Insurance cost was $180 a year on a "sunny day" policy, limited to 12000 miles a year. Stated value on a daily driver though, ouch, that's spendy!
  2. Is there a Jack Stack BBQ in KC anywhere? I went to the one in Olathe several years ago and don't know if they're still around or even have one on the KC side...
  3. It's a magic camera then, LOL! Truck is entirely water/dirt spotted from last night's and this morning's rain showers. It helps that the pics are only 25% of the size of when they came off of the camera too though, or you would have been able to zoom in.
  4. It is dropped, 2" shackles in rear and keys up front. 295/45/20 Grabber UHP's. Thinking of going slightly lower in the rear with leaf packs, and I'll get around to putting spindles on the front to get back proper travel some day, but it won't be able to go much lower at all really...
  5. I'd love to come down to a meet in KC area. Anyone from that area??? Could run the trucks at KCIR and find a BBQ place to eat at prior to going to the track... Perhaps some shopping during the day for our chicks...
  6. Sorry, but I had to take pics anyway. I got these used from another member for 600 shipped (rims only). I fixed the scratches from the curb shot on the one rim (shown in the appearance section). I got them on the truck today and couldn't wait... So much better than the old rims, at least in a picture. Keeping my old ones for winter...
  7. Ever since you made this thread I've been checking Ebay every few days for a local farm truck. Tons of Fords, only a few Chevy's and most of those are long beds... Oh well, some day...

    Some damn huge ET Streets!!!
  9. Nice to see they're coming down in price... I just may have to get some of those
  10. Yeah, I agree. All of those extra lines in the graphics area are really hard on the eyes. Wouldn't be so bad if you did that...
  11. 1. Cross Force wrench set - Craftsman brand, others have them too. It's a combination wrench twisted 90 degrees to get a better handle in it. Much easier to pull/push VERY hard compared to regular wrenches. 2. 110V Mig - welds aluminum with 100% argon gas and it's so much easier than TIG for jobs that don't have to be so pretty. 3. 4 inch and 7 inch angle grinders with cutoff wheels, flappers sanding discs, and polishing buffs. I have several of each size so that I don't have to change heads anymore since I use each one so often. Honorable mention: Blast cabinet
  12. Leave the pads in the caliper and compress the piston with a C-clamp, with the lid removed from the resevoir. It's easy...
  13. The after pic for the worst wheel. Other than washing off some polish residue, it's ready to go.
  14. Me too... I just hope they don't erase to much memory this ti... Oh, hey there. I'm new here and own a Silverado SS... Does anybody know what headers/cam/tunes are best?
  15. Yeah, I'm actually going up by about 4 pounds per wheel. Tires are same weight, wheels weight 4 pounds more... I keep second guessing myself that I should have went with the 265/50/20's since they were 11 pounds lighter per tire... Why can't I just make enough money to buy both and keep only what I want to?
  16. Fuel prices are going through the roof, oil companies are setting record profits, all while the small gas shops are being goiung out of business. Supporting my local economy and went E85 this week... I can't wait for a non-big business president to get into the whitehouse. It's been a loooooooong 8 years... Oh, by the way, did anyone see his, uh, dance... the other day?
  17. I've lived all of my life in tornado alley and I've only seen 1 tornado up close. I always thought I wanted to see one up close until it happened... It was about 20 years ago (when I was 15-16) and me and a friend were at our baseball game when the storm hit. By the time they called the game off the storm was really hitting hard. We ran to the parking lot and were waiting for my mom when we got picked up by a HUGE blast of wind, carried 20 feet in the air, and dropped onto the trunk of a parked car. I hope I never get near one again.
  18. Yeah I agree. I will be blacking out the part between the spokes that make the 20's look smaller than they really are though, hopefully that helps some.

    My Turbo Build

I like the recent progress!!! Keep it going man! Does it still look like it's going to be completed soon?
  20. I'm going to have an adjustable regulator as well, so I can raise the operating fuel pressure if the 42's fall behind. With the new high compression L92 heads I have going on, I just wanted to get a jump start on the basics of E85 before going to a combination that can REALLY take advantage of it. Same with the SD setup (my carb style intake will be done "old school" looking with a 14" round air cleaner/etc). By the way, they make Ethanol from more than just the corn itself, such as corn stalks, sugar cane waste, construction waste, etc. Pure ethanol isn't the end all be all, but at least it pushes off full electric vehicles a while longer and gives me more HP adding octane in the process!!!!
  21. I got these wheels off of Pooly's SS. They had some curb rash on one wheel, but I ground it down, sanded, and repolished it and you can't tell it was ever curb scrubbed. I'll have to post pics of the "after" wheel later today as I left my camera behind this morning. Since I had him remove the tires he had on there, I got new General Grabber UHP's in 295/45/20. I chose these tires because they are the same weight (40 pounds) as my current SMALLER 275/45/20 Yoko Geolandar's. I almost went with a 265/50/20 General Exclaim, as it only weighs 29 freaking pounds!!! I just wanted wider tires for the more muscular look I guess. With the new tires being a bit taller, I'm hoping to get back some of my highway mileage, even with the increase in width. We'll see... These are pics of the rims/tires that he was selling them with... More pics to come later to show the repaired/polished wheel.
