I have the same problem and I only have a 2" drop in the rear. I've tried 4* and 2*. I'm going to remove the drop shackles and install the 3" leaf spring kit with the stock shackles. Apparently this option retains the stock pinion angle, thus no vibration.
-
How about if I remove the shackles and install the 3" leaf packs? This will retain the stock pinion angle, right?
-
Mine is only lowered 2" with shackles, and neither 2 nor 4 degree shims could get it right.

Petroleum jelly still working well, use very little, just enough to skim the surface of the gasket. I used way too much and the sun made the excess run down the side of the truck, nothing bad at all just some cussing while I cleaned it off with Windex and a microfiber towell. Mr. P. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Mr. P. Has anyone attempted the silicone?

I just boat this at Sears in the hopes that it will help me figure out my pinioin angle problem. Will this work? After installing the spindles and shackles I have the pinion angle vibration in the rear. I installed 2 degree shims and still had the vibration. I added another 2 degrees to make it 4, and still have the vibration.....in addition, now I have a vibration upon braking when I come to almost a complete stop. The vibration happens at about the same speed on acceleration and braking.....around 15mph. Belltech said the 2 degree should have been enough. They want me to try 3 degrees. If that doesn't work I'll try 1 degree. If that doesn't work, I returning the truck to stock height and giving up. Any suggestions other than what I'm gonna try?

I just installed the latches, and like has been said a couple of times above, it doesnt fix it completely. I'm going to try the petroleum jelly next. If that doesn't seal it, I'll try some silicone.

I've never shot the Springfield, but it looks nice. Alot like the Glock, but seems to have an additional safety in the grip, somewhat like the Colt 1911. This is a good thing. I have 3 Glocks. They are great guns....excellent for concealed carry, although I no longer elect to do so. I would not worry nor mess with the trigger pull. As a carry piece, god forbid should the time come where you need to use it, it will not matter. Only my opinion. With either choice I would definitely get the extension. The Glock is very small, and the SA looks similar in size without the extension. I would also be sure to get the night sites. When making the decision to carry a firearm full-time, you should always take measures to ensure that you have the best possible tools for all environments. The Glock is a quality firearm, and I'm sure the XD is as well, being that it's a Springfield. Good luck in your decision.

(Mods are in my sig) The first run was with the traction control ON: 60ft 2.43 330ft 6.73 0-50 5.55 Second run with the traction control OFF: 60ft 2.30 330ft 6.43 0-50 5.18 0-60 7.02 Third run with traction control OFF and a power brake at 2000rpms: 60ft 2.33 330ft 6.45 0-50 5.13 Don't know how accurate the G-Timer is, but it was pretty cool. It measures G forces too.

Is there such thing as a better quality bushing (boot)?
-
Does anyone else think that this bushing looks a little strange? I just noticed that it looked a little more beat up than the other one. Here are some pics: And here are some of the drivers side to compare. This one looks OK. Is it me, or does the passenger side bushing look a little messed up?
-
That is crazy. You can get a new 07 for $34k.
-
Funny....I was having these same thoughts too.
-
Congrats! Everything looks great. I want to get a closer look at that grill. Did you decide against powder coating it?
-
Yeah, they're not that common around here.

Let me know if you want to take her for a spin.
