  1. Im the same way. i just cant let mine go as well. it has sat way more than I have ever driven it. but I could never get rid of it. its part of me. Only way I'd ever part with mine is if it came done to needing money for my family. other than that it will sit in the garage. Id love to see my son drive this truck when he is old enough. Sorry to see another clean truck go away. I bet it brought you many enjoyable moments. im sure it wasn't easy but you can't keep them all. On a side note I was at wal-mart shop tonight a there was a super clean black SSS there. i told my wife we need another SSS as a DD. I got the look. Lol she said if they came in a Crew cab yo cold have another one. Really wish they were made in a Crew cab.
  2. Have any of you owned or built a LSX S10? I have a carbed SBC S10 1987 square. but really itching to build a LSX S10 1997 2nd gen body style.

  3. Sweet you cant beat fuel milage. thats why I keep my better honda accord around, it only gets 25 mpg in town and that with warming it up every morning for about 5 minutes. when all my other vehicles get 14 or less. Is your car a auto or manual? Is the SS still around or did you get rid of it?
  4. . Yep that's the kit I'm running.
  5. Congrats on the new tbss. I as well just bought one. Just a heads up look into the oiling issues of these trucks. The tbss has a very poor oil pickup tube set up. They are known for starving for oil. Mine already spun a rod bearing and I'm in the middle of replacing the motor. There is a fix for it. I'd recommend changing the oil pickup tube. Just google tbss rod knock. Launching them is not good. The oil pickup tube is located towards the front of the motor so when you launch them it will starve for oil. Some run an extra quart of oil to help. I just wanted to give u a heads up.
  6. According to that post. it says 2.16lbs light for rotating mass. I guess if your hunting for every weight loss and possible.
  7. So its this the track setup or all time now? looks good. look more in racer mode this way.
  8. the TBSS spun a rod bearing. yanked the motor today. pulled the pan #4 rod is toast and so is the crank. I had only out 600 miles on it since buying it. oh well. time for a rebuild its not like the old owner could hide a rod knock. it just happens.

Sounds like a great time. Have fun.

  11. Its something I wish I had more time for. we have a bunch of places to ride around here. just no time.
  12. Do most guys that run a 4" drop go with a C-notch? I didn't know just a c-notch would help with ride quality? a c-notch doesn't change your rear leaf spring or shock location does it? Doesn't a c-notch just allow you to drop your truck more?
  13. I am running a 3/4 kit on my AWD truck with a 205/35 on a 24 inch wheels with a bumpy ride and it doesn't rub. are you guys trimming your bump stops and also removing the bracket that the rear bump stop bolts to? that will give you another 1 1/2" of room. If not and your sitting on the bump stop thats your issue. The factory rear bump stop is bolted onto a brackets the is held to the frame with 2 bolts. once you remove the bump stop to trim it. unbolt that bracket sand look for a hole in the frame that is already drilled into the frame right where you removed the brackets. you can then bolt your bumps tops right the that after its been trimmed.
  14. you will need to cut the bump stops and also remove the brackets that the rear bump stops bolt to. then bolt the bump stops directly to the frame. there is holes right above the bump stop bracket that the bump stop will bolt right into. I did this and it worked great. I actually did this to 2 Silverado SS and it worked great.
  15. Its crazy to think 556 chevy silverado's were stolen from each state on average. accords are almost double that.
  16. Great job. looks sweet all cleaned up. that bird had some awesome color.
  17. Yes they are fun. even as a v6. My buddy rented and new v6 model here a month back. it was a fun car. had decent power for a v6. we even had 4 people in it and it wasn't to bad. just like most coupe cars. not a ton of room but enough to haul people or things if need be.
  18. Its a hard one. the plus to the camaro is the back seat if you so happen to need it. I have a son so I would only get something with a back seat. But they are a bit heavy so if your looking to go fast cheap the vette hands down. I had always wants a C6Z. But after having a child I look at things different now. need something the family can enjoy.
  19. Just got the front windshield raplaced and fully tinted on the TBSS. Did not go super dark. did it more for the heat factor. but it looks good. Went with ceramic tint anybody ever have this installed? it was pricey. but they claim its a heat saver.

It can be legal if you have a prescription from an optometrist.

  20. Wasn't chase pretty low??? I just think the back needs brought down a bit.
  21. Looks great. what kinda lift you have on it? Lol I think a bit lower would look good. even if you just brought down the back 2". I think these trucks look great with a 3/4 kit. after I lowered mine 3/4 I was wishing it was the first mod I had done. Wheels look good. I like that you don't see them on many SSS. heres a before and after of a 3/4 drop.
  22. Looks like a blast. I could get in trouble with that.
  23. Thats a bad deal. Ward should have never exited his car. you stay in your car until its a red flag or medical personal gets there. this could have all been prevented it he would have. I dont know what he was thinking running out on the track like that.
  24. I only solder them. I use a big torch put the ring terminal in a small vise. heat it really good and melt a bunch of solder in it then stick the end of the wire in it and let it cool. I have never had one come loose or come back out. then I put a piece of shrink tube on it and call it a day. makes them look clean too. I got tried of crimping them for the wire to just fall out or get loose over time.
  25. Nice looking little ride. some of those came with a 5.3L I bet they run pretty good.
