  1. Oh its already began. tonight i did the full adams treatment on the interior. its looking good on the inside. then I wet sanded and buffed the headlights. they were looking nasty. next will be the paint a under side. Im just a clean freak. nothing is better then stepping back and seeing what you have done.
  2. You wont regret it. We have been talking about it for 3-4 years and just never really looked into them much. then I test drove one and thats all it took. they dont get the greatest fuel milage 13-14 MPG . but no worse than a truck. they are nice.
  3. It probably will be. but oh well. black looks good. Im hoping to do a full paint correction this up coming weekend if I get time. then add a good shine to it and see how it looks. its not bad now you can just tell the owner before me washed it or dried it with a rough towel or cloth. just normal swirls and what not.
  4. Well I finally bought a vehicle. I had been looking around at trucks and just couldn't find one. So I started looking for a TBSS. I found one local to me for a fair price. that was what I want. AWD 4Dr leather and loaded. Has a bit higher miles. 101k has all the options. Even has a few small bolt-ons. Corsa cat-back K&N intake 5% Tint Full audio system Black SS over lays Billet grill It does need some TLC. I will be doing a full paint correction soon and then go from there as to what needs repainted. I want to start with a clean ride and do some minor mods of my own. nothing crazy since this will be a family rig. I ended up getting it for $14800.00 high book is $19K. Only have a few pictures. the silver ss is a buddys.
  5. Might have found a TBSS. It would be my very first black vehicle. I know it will be a PITA the keep clean. but they look sick all clean.

Yeah. But Im having some small scratches and chips taken care of right away. I have always wanted to try out a black vehicle. Im a clean freak so it should be fun. good thing I have a ton of Adam's polishes. first thing I will be doing.

  6. Nice I forgot all about the being over 10 years old deal. My uncle is a service writer for a big body shop here. I bought a total car from there that came with a clean title it was a 97.
  7. I personally never have. but I did talk to a guy who swapped a 6.6 dmax into a 1500 yukon. and he said the biggest issue they ran into was the allison transmission it quite a bit bigger than a 4l60/4l80 trans and it hit the tunnel under the truck when he went to install it. so he had to do a 2" body lift to raise it up to clear the tranmission tunnel. I would assume the 1500/SS would be the same but can't say 100% sure. It was a sweet yukon. all blacked out with a dmax and lifted 4 inchs plus the 2" of body lift/ I have soe pictures of it I can post.
  8. Yeah thats why I got rid of my 06 CC. No joke the worst fuel milage I have ever gotten. It was only getting 9.6 MPG on the interstate. yeah I was moving along good at 78-80MPG but 9.6MPG is bad. I couldn't get any better intown. the truck claimed it got 11 but when I did the math myself it would only get 9.6-9.8 MPG at best. I would have been ok with 13. but 9.7 is bad. I only drive about 170-200 miles a week but had to fuel up all the time. my wifes 01 yukon XL gets 14-15 in all day long and 17 on the interstate.
  9. Yeah but they dont come in a Crew Cab a crew cab or 4 door is a must. My son is 16 months old and we plan to have another child. So i want a Family vehicle. Ex cabs arent the best for family's. not that it cant be done but I like the extra room .
  10. Yeah . I'm going to keep looking. hell might end you with a TBSS. I dont need a truck and TBSS are sweet. and can still pull a ATV trailer if need be. I did find a White one. I love white.
  11. You wouldn't need any of that. the AWD System doesn't use any of that. you'd just use the running gear out of your SS and swap it over. A factory 4x4 truck uses a front diff that has a actuator to lock the front diff in / your AWD drive Diff does not and is always locked in. Same goes for your t-case in a since. really it wouldn't be that bad. it would just be a matter of swapping things over. heck I'd just use the SS wiring harness and get rid of the pig tails for the factory 4WD if you went that route. Pretty much be this truck RCSB 4WD. then swap in you running gear. IMG_3055.jpg This is Izzy performances truck. they launch it in 4WD. they do a burnout then switch it into 4wd thats why its hooks so good. see how it has drag radials on the front as well. Same deal with Jared truck. 4wd launch/ a AWD swap would be Easy.
  12. Heres what I get when searching CL. look at some of these adds and look at the shape these are in. you dont come across nice Silverado's or Sierra often. http://billings.craigslist.org/search/cto?query=silverado+ Sierra's http://billings.craigslist.org/search/cto?query=Sierra
  13. yes it would need to be a 4x4 chassis. but then you would bring it down like the SS and do the AWD T-case. also might need the SS front diff if they are different ratios.
  14. This is correct. these trucks do book for this. In great shape. its hard finding good deals out here. my last 06 green crew I had I got a smoking deal on. it had 97k on it 6.0 4l80E cloth interior and I paid $13k for it. but I also got it from a buddy who his dad bought it at the auction for me. it high booked for 22k at that point and I drove if for 7 month and still sold it for $16K to the first guy who looked at it. this truck here high books for $19400.00 http://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/2006/Chevrolet/SILVERADO-1500-PICKUP-1-2-Ton-V8/Crew-Cab-LT-4WD/Values
  15. Yeah I have thought about that as well. I actually bought the SS sight un seen back in 06 1800 miles away. luckily it turned out to be a good truck and wasn't beat up. Who knows I could have just got luckily. I'll be in denver in the next month or so. been keeping an eye out down there as well.
  16. Me personally would buy it back and part it out. then find another one and start over. just keep the 80 and procharger. I'd say you could make 4-5k on all the left over parts. cladding, interior, t-case, bed, motor ect. Or find a Reg cab and build a clone and make it AWD Sucks it happened. but there is other trucks out there it would be hard for me to drop money back into a totaled
  17. Wow. I wish trucks went that cheap around here. everything is sky high and they move quick. trucks dont last around here. if they do there is something major wrong with it. trucks hold a strong market here. Since everybody here has them or wants them. heck i looked at a 2010 silverado 2500 HD LTZ crew cab. found out it had 150K for a 2010 and its list for $25k I about fell over. it was rock chipped to crap and had a few decent sized dents on it. sad thing is it will be gone in a week or two tops.
  18. Ok so I have been looking for about the last month for a clean DD. As some may know I was looking at a 07 sierra Denali but it just had to many issues and we couldn't make a deal. So that left me to looking again. I have been searching and have only been finding junk. I am a bit picky so I know its going to be hard finding a truck that is used but I know it can be done. I have found one crew cab. that has low miles (65K) with just a few things. I'd need to change to make it work for me. Biggest down fall is no leather but not deal breaking. I can always add leather if it bugs me that bad. I have drove the truck and it is clean. really tight and taken care of well. its a 2 owner truck first owner had it for 9k miles and had a grill guard on it. well he removed it when it sold and you can see where it scratched the paint on top of the bumper where the grill guard rested. then the factory bed cap molding are warped from having a rollup bed cover on it and sitting in the sun. you can only get the factory bed molding from the factory on the 5'3" beds. at a cost of $363.00 So for repaint of the top bumper piece it would be about $250.00 and the factory bed molding pieces cost $363.00 from the factory. so about $613.00 to fix the issues. The truck high books for $19200.00 the guy is asking $19850.00 I offered him $18500.00 because of the few small things I'd have to fix. he is stuck at $19000.00 and will not move. So do I given in and just pay the $19000.00 thats only $200.00 away from full retail.? Do you guys think that is to much to pay. keep in mind in my area clean trucks are hard to find. most are rock beat to shit because guy dont run mud flaps on gravel roads. heres the truck http://billings.craigslist.org/cto/4584980428.html
  19. Yeah I havent seen many lighter vehicle to this. like you said its mostly darker colors. just sucks it happens.
  20. I dont know what it is with red. but I have seen this a few times. even happened on one of my red vehilces. it does look like normal Gm clear peeling issue. does it see a lot of time sitting in the sun? That does suck. How often has the truck been polished/ waxed?
  21. yeah Im thinking of holding out. I have found a 2009 with 80k. but once again. its not local to me about 2.5 hours away. I dont want to hop on the first truck i find a regret it.
  22. Yeah they have nice power. I stepped on it a few times and it moved pretty good. I launched it once and it shocked me. I hopped in my wife yukon xl with a 5.3 when we left and it left weak. the 6.2 has nice power.
  23. Nice. I bet your stokes. The denali class of trucks are sweet. It they made a crewcab SS that's what I'd get for a DD. I just really want a awd crewcab for a dd. With kids its nice to have extra room. I'm not ruling the truck out. But he needs to move a bit on the price. My autobody guy said it was fixable for about $800.00
  24. Well I went to look at this truck today. Just couldn't make a deal. I had to pass on it. Almost cut him a check until I found a rust spot that was bubbling on the roof about the size of a fifty cent piece. Was super bummed. Thought I had finally found a truck.
  25. Wow. some people these days, thats crazy pricey. you can get some nice rides for $33K. sure as hell wouldnt be this truck for me.
