I collect antique oil and gas specifically Skelly Oil & Gas and you would be mind boggled by auction prices. Its absolutly rediculous. Auctions are for who wants it the most and who has the deepest pockets. I have seen some I have bought over the years that I paid about net worth or a little more than what I should of just cause I wanted it. Then see the same thing in worse shape go for literally 10x! Net worth is a completly different game

I hate oiled filters. I would find a dry filter system and roll with it.

Spinning a stock motor to 6400 or higher even 6600 isnt a big deal. The problem I see is if you benefit from spinning it that high I.E injector duty cycle, ect. Randy, you will hear all sorts of opinions on forums. Specially on PT.net.

In my opinion, not replacing the oil pump isnt the item that should be in question here.....its stall converter and injectors. Sure, any slap dick can install a camshaft. And any slap dick can do it on a budget as there are things you dont have to do. But reaping the benifits of the money spent is what counts here. I could care less what your truck sounds like from the donkey dick camshaft you just replaced. What I do care about is how the said truck comes out of the hole and 60fts as well as traps.

tuning is key. it is more key than most people think.

The loss in performance on the low end is the nature of the beast. Its a heavier transmission therefore your going to have some parasitic loss. We talked about this. When you get the blower and get the benifits of the low end torque a roots blower produces you wont even know you had a loss on the low end. This is why an 80E isnt recommended for light modded N/A trucks.

Everyone in this thread is correct except one. Below is that example. Flushing a high mileage transmisison is asking for trouble. Ill bet the OP has no idea when the last time the fluid had been changed or if ever. With that said when you flush you break up small particles of crap inside and can plug up the oil circuitry. Oil starvation is a killer and doesnt take much time to do so. Changing fluid and filter is by far the best way to go. Also adding a bottle of friction modifier with the new oil wont hurt a bit. You can get this at any parts store when you get your fluid. I forget the brand but its in a little silver bottle. On another note. When buying your new filter "kit" try to keep from buying the parts store brand such as Oreillys. I have seen many of these filters collapse internally. Obviously when this happens it starves the pump and turns a loss of power or wont engage any forward gears complaint. Then after it sits it will settle back and able to feed fluid to the pump. Then collapse again back to the same deal. Go to the dealer and get a filter and gasket kit. Yes it will be higher priced but iv seen 3 of these cheap filters collapse and its just not worth the hassle. I would rather spend the extra on a quality filter than be stuck out in BFE! go home, you're drunk

Sonnax is who makes the billet input drum. You are wasting your money......go with an 80
