  1. I looked at a CPO 2012 Sierra Denali a week ago. It had 60k on it and they still wanted $35k for it. The truck was gorgeous and had every single option except rear dvd. I was (still am) super tempted to replace the SS but I also like not having a payment. They are awesome trucks though.
  2. Got the front shocks on. Hoping to get the rears and sway bar done this weekend.

  3. I have a Victory Red one I'd sell of the deal was right... Tampa Bay area...
  4. Kinda half thinking about selling the SS if there was an interest. 03, Victory Red, just under 96k miles. Clear Florida title (NO rust anywhere!). Almost new Nito 420's in a 305/50/20, Z06 & Hydroboost conversion. Immaculate interior.

let me get some parts off of it first

  5. After having a 2wd truck, I would never own another one. The SS has been the only problem-free vehicle I have ever owned.
  6. My rails are all scratched up from the stupid bed cover that was on there when I bought it. I'll never own another fiberglass cover and would never buy one. I really like the tri-fold flush mount ones.
  7. I helped a buddy install a train horn on his F-250. He drilled the frame for the air horn mounting bracket. For the compressor he bought a constant duty, twin compressor Viair system. We removed the bed and were able to install everything above the spare tire bracket and under the bed. The compressors and tank is completely hidden from view.
  8. Pain was never much of an issue for me. I actually walked (yes, walked) out of the hospital after my surgery and continued to walk around the rest of the day. There was so much local anesthesia in my knee and I was also on pain killers that I felt zero pain. However, the next day, after everything wore off, I was seeing stars when I tried to get out of bed. I only took the pain killers for a couple weeks after the surgery then jumped right into PT.
  9. How much for a set? I need new headlights anyway. The Florida sun has killed my stock/original headlights.
  10. I have had my left knee done twice, torn meniscus both times and it was arthroscopic both times. My recovery time was minimal. After the second surgery (several years after the first one) and some aggressive physical therapy, I was skiing 3 months later. The only negative is I can't comfortably kneel on my left knee for very long and won't ever be able to. I know it isn't shoulder surgery and that is what you are asking about but it is the closest thing I can relate to. My left shoulder is jacked up, it pops in and out of the joint and sometimes locks up on me if I am lifting above my head but there isn't anything they can do for it. Just kinda the way I'm built I guess so I just have to live with it.
  11. If I could find a used Pioneer 197 Sportfish, I would be a boat owner. Just waiting for one to pop up.
  12. I hate my fiberglass cover and would never spend the money on one, but, it was on there when I bought the truck. I would really like to get rid of it and put a folding hard cover in place of it,
  13. Mine was in 03' and I drove a rusted 87 Jeep Cherokee Limited. However, I borrowed my neighbor's 98' Navigator and spend the entire day detailing it. I felt like a BAMF driving a Navigator for a day back in High School.

    Rust

Probably the only thing I don't miss about living in New England anymore. The under carriage on my 03 looks new without a spec of rust. However... my clear coat is looking rough from baking in the sun. Pluses and minuses to everything though I guess.
  15. So, my idler arm, pitman arm and bracket have already been done. Shocks and rear sway bar is waiting in the garage. About to order new front/rear bushings, ball joints, tie-rods and front sway bushings and end links... Am I missing anything to make this truck drive like new again???

How easy is the pitman and idler arm? Or did you have it installed?

I had to have it done when I got tires and they tried to align it.

  16. Story of my life right there after I just bought shocks and the rear sway last month.
  17. Jeez, I don't even have a owners manual for mine! I feel left out.
  18. I have yet to get far enough into the buying process to have them give me a number on my truck. I really don't want to get rid of it but every once and a while I have a weak moment and stop at a dealership just to look around. I'm very honest with the salesman though, I tell them up front they can give a number for it but unless it is above book value (and something I can't turn down), I'm keeping the truck. The SS is paid off so it only cost me insurance and registration and there is nothing wrong with it other then it needs all the fluids changed but that is just maintenance, oh, it probably needs gas too, like it always does.
  19. I have this, along will the street performance shocks sitting in the garage. Just waiting for time to install.
  20. Thanks for posting pictures. I put in a quote request for the Line-X. My truck has (I'm guessing)the bedrug in it since day 1 because there is zero damage to the paint underneath. Seems almost like a shame to Line-X over it. I was considering the red Line-X because I would have a toneau cover on it 99% of the time. I'l have to consider the over the rail spray like you guys posted but I think I will have to go a bit further down because the fiberglass cover really did a number on the rails. I was looking at rail covers like these that covered the corners a little further down. That is where the majority of the damage is. http://www.autoanything.com/bed-caps-rails/73A6477A0A0.aspx.
  21. As mentioned above, they are a good starting point for title issues. I wouldn't buy a vehicle without one. However, you have to take them with a grain of salt. My SER Altima had a "clean Carfax" and the front/rear bumpers and both driver side doors had been painted. My truck also has a clean Carfax and I know my front bumper has been painted. No obvious damage and no signs of a collision but the bumper definitely does not have factory paint. It will only show what has been reported to the insirance company, dealer or in a police report, ect. If you hit a tree and take your car to the bodyshop and pay out of your own pocket, Carfax has no idea.
  22. Right now my truck has a bed rug with a cheaper (Century) painted fiberglass bed cover. I don't like it and even though the truck is a SS, not being able to utilize it as a truck is annoying. Also, the clear is starting to fail on the bed cover, as is most of the truck... damn Florida sun! I'm about to take the plunge and ditch the bed cover and bed rug, get the truck Line-x'd and buy a hard tri-fold flush mount cover. Problem is, the bed cover has messed up my bed rails pretty good over the years from rubbing so I think I would have to put on some plastic bed rail caps to hide the damage. Hopefully somebody has a picture of a VR SS with one of these flush mouth covers they can post up or pictures of a VR SS with Line-X. The Line-X website even said they can color match now. That's kinda cool. Or, maybe just trade the SS on a CPO Sierra Denali
