  1. Damn, I didn't even know they made a set for our trucks... I wish I would have got these instead of my pacesetters.
  2. Chase did you ever get the belt tensioner issue figured out.
  3. Nice pics man. I am sure it was a cool as hell to be there. who makes that IR LS1 intake. One complaint though, the pic with the chick, you had a tighter grasp on the beer than the chick. Just kidding bro
  4. Yes, you will make more power with a ported set of heads, but with forced induction (Radix) your gains will not be as great as a N/A set-up. So I would save the money on the heads, and just make sure to get good valvespring, TI retainers, and good pushrods. For the stall, I would stick with something around 2600.
  5. I don't remeber who that was, but maybe their compression went down with the head swap ??
  6. I have done a cam install without taking the motor, and it wasn't bad just pull the radiator, not the A/C condenser, also put magnet pens on the lifters to keep them from dropping. TC can be swapped just by dropping exhaust, unbolting trans, sliding it back as far as you can get it, and turn it towards the passanger side. Up to you, but I know it will be more work to pull the motor.
  7. Refer to this thread for heads http://www.silveradoss.com/forums/index.ph...topic=27221&hl= and I would not recommend an after market cam with the 1.85 rocker arms. aftermarket lobes are much more agressive than stock lobe profiles, and more than likely you would have valvetrain issues. You can run a Z06 cam, but make sure your springs are fresh.
  8. Oh, forgot to add that the down side to running ET or RHS is that you have to run a totally aftermarket valvetrain, which adds to the cost. ET also makes a 215cc head and RHS also makes 210cc head. RHS also only has a 62cc chamber which would raise compression around a full point. Not sure what chamber options ET has. I ran the 225 RHS on my 408, and had to wait a very long time for ET to custom cut a 68cc chamber for me, so i think its better just to keep CC in the same ballpark to avoid delays. I know what you are thinking and the motor is not tunning yet
  9. I would try the trick flows or even take a close look at the edlebrock 215cc head that West Coast Cylinder heads has available. GM hightech performance just did some testing on the TFS against a hand blended afr 205, and stock edelbrock 202cc head. The TFS maid more power across the board against all, but the edlebrock wasn't ported. I think AFR will have to start looking to update there port to keep up with the more advanced castings and ports now available. As far as running a 225 vs a 215,205 cc head. I think you are going to make more usable power throughout the whole range, in a 6.0L, with the smaller runner head. Goodluck
  10. I have them on my 70 camaro, and they work great. I am not sure I follow the reasoning running them on an AWD truck. The reason for this is becuase they are designed to move the instant center of the car farther forward to plant the rear on the ground harder. This will essentially unload the front end even more than just a stock truck launch and create even more front wheel spin. I guess it is fine if you want the transfer case to then shift more power to the rear wheels to stop the front wheel spin. A couple problems I see is the time it takes the transfer case to do this, and since our trucks have a wimpy rear end it could cause a higher probability of failure in higher horse power trucks. Just my .02
  11. I am not sure if anyone had a chance to catch the game, but dang that was a crazy game
  12. It think to stock 5.3L chamber is 61.15cc, so if you run a stock head gasket, yes you will lose compression. However going with a bigger cam is going to bleed off compresion also. Cam size should be ok, are you running a stall ??
  13. Even with a 22" wheels a 4.10 is still a good all around gear. I like the diff cover though
  14. Good to hear it is working out. It should run much better next time out
  15. I know a little something about Big Blocks. 454 = 4.251 bore x 4.000 stroke 427 = 4.251 bore x 3.760 stroke 396 = 4.096 bore x 3.760 stroke I am selling a 515 BBC if anyone is interested
  16. That's totally cool. I want to do a similar trip, but just haven't had a chance to yet.
  17. I think it means "fu#@ your SRT"
  18. Yes a D1 will put out more power than a P1 at the same boost level. It flows more cfm.
  19. I used the nelson harness, and it works great
  20. Can't wait to hear it. I had dynatechs with a spintech muffler and that was loud also, but music to my ears.
  21. That makes me luv cali even more
  22. Totally sucks, but it will be worth it when you get it on.
  23. A 2.3L is certainly not small, but a 2.8 would be brutal
  24. Looks good I didn't even know they made a wagon SS
