  1. Clever marketing at its finest. I have the roller set up from my construction company. Once set, I move houses with my pinky.
  2. No, the pcn has hard boundaries that can not be exceeded. Its not the maf that max out, its the pcm. A 5.3l with 10# should be borderline.
  3. It wont do you any good unless you go to a custom o.s. at which point you might as well go s.d. If you want to read boost, get a boost gauge.
  4. Fyi there is only one disc for the north America/ Canada region
  5. It should display anything that the pcm can monitor.
  6. This guy! And after having done mine in red, I know what he is getting at!
  7. A gmt900 navigation disc will not work on a gmt800
  8. I say stick to a MAF tune till you max the MAF sensor out, once you have done that, then you can move up to an SD tune.
  9. A barrel water to air ic will fit the bill nicely. Has for me... I see a lot of good ideas here but moat of them are just trying to reinvent the wheel... The wheel works just fine, look for what has and has not worked and go from there.
  10. IMHO you are getting ahead of yourself. Alot of info will become clear once you start tuning.
  11. You just need a license, they are generic aans can be applied to any tunable vehicle.
  12. Yup, swapped pcm. A competent GM dealer should fix you up quick.
  13. Efilive uses licenses not credits... It takes one license per pcm, tcm, ecm. Our truck only have a pcm. With efilive you can tune indefinitely with no further costs. Efilive also comes with two licenses.
  14. These cats won't pass CA emissions on a abd2 equipped vehicle or any other state that uses CA smog rules. So they aren't legal OEM cat replacements for an 03sss
  15. The only radios that have a vin relearn feature are the nav units. All of the others have to go trough a full reprogram in order for them to do a vin relearn. There is also no difference between a non lux-bose (whats in the SSS and any other truck) and a non-bose programing. the only difference between the two is the amp. So it doesn't matter how it was programmed. I doubt that they did a lux program on it and even if they did, you wouldn't have fried your amp. After playing with a fellow members truck, I came to the conclusion that I also think that the BCM needs to be programmed also in order for the truck to recognize the amp and turn it on, but i'm not 100% on that yet
  16. For all the members who live in areas that require chains during the winter and have a 4x4... Are chains required on both axles, the rear, or are they even needed on the vehicle? And should one run them on both axles if the need arises vs 1? Thanks
  17. Easy project, everything will bolt up. You wont need the new pcm, just get the knock sensor harness extension, cam sensor relocation harness, and the lingenfelter 58x to 24x module, tune and your good to go
  18. Tahoes, suburbans, h2, escalades all have the same size rear rotors as the SSS. The 05 up trucks got the larger caliper/rotor up front only.
  19. All awd sss have dual piston rear calipers, with the larger 12.8 rear rotors, half ton trucks had the single piston, smaller rotor set up
  20. While I do agree with you on the whole in person tune is better than mail order, zippy has been around for a long time, and has tuned nearly every set up imaginable. He has been tuning EFI, since EFI came about. But that is not here nor there, however you do need to posting what you think are facts. Case in point what I highlighted in red, The Gen 3+ PCMs are all learing PCMs. they are not the same as yesteryear's PCMs that had no learning capabilities. So, yes there is a learning curve that a pcm needs to go trough, and it will need to do it after every flash. The closer to stock a set up is, the less learning it will do, depending on the tuner, and wear and tear of an engine, more learning will be needed. Most tuner know how to compensate for this to speed up the process. Then there are the rare cases that need more than expected due to outside reasons. This is where in person or logging is crucial
  21. Stock bore with a 4.125 crank is a 402.
  22. IIRC the 2500 8.5" front ifs will not fit in place of the 1500 7.5" you would have to raise the body 2 inches and I don't think the mounts are the same. Its cheaper and easier to find a 1500hd or a 2500ld frame and do a body swap. It already has the parts you want.
  23. it can be a broken accumulator piston, trans probably needs to be gone trough some time soon
  24. this truck has for sure gone a long way. Do you have any pics of when you first got it???
