  1. Here's an STS kit installed on a black Crown Vic. Do an STS on a Merc and it will be just that much more bad ass. http://videos.streetfire.net/video/turbo-c...-psi_124046.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/short-r...urbo_124047.htm http://videos.streetfire.net/video/short-r...urbo_124047.htm The first time I drove a new Marauder was in Vegas. A friend works at a Ford dealer and we took one out for lunch. Nice cars, but as always there wasn't enough power.
  2. Basic tuning for the mods you have would be very easy to accomplish. Tune it yourself if you plan to really do some modding somewhere down the line, but if you're just sticking with the basics a mail order tune should be fine.
  3. Where are you buying your Granite Alloys so cheap? The Stingray III's are very popular and only $169 each in 20x8.5...
  4. No known F body headers fit the 4x4 or AWD trucks due to the front driveshaft tight clearance. Several brands of F body headers fit the 2wd trucks with minimal modification though.
  5. Sounds nice. I've been looking into the '78-'88 Monte's as a possible Nascar flavored Pro-touring ride. Love those body styles!
  6. Best: OBX LT's Worst: hard 'glass bed cover (to damn heavy)
  7. I like your ideas except that I would run smaller performance oriented tires and wheels. The 18's intended for Mustangs fit nicely, so some black 18" bullets or FR500's would look pretty badass IMHO.
  8. Does someone below you disconnect the pipe and determine which "finger" it goes into then? I know I wouldn't be able to do it. Friggin scared to death of heights...
  9. Well, I power washed it last night and the clear is totally ruined from the bird dung sitting on it to long. It's going to need a repaint. Oh well, I can powder coat a lot of things while it's disassembled now I guess. The carbs are almost off of it (finish removing them tonight), then, once it's running nice I'll tear off the tank, side covers, bags, fairing and repaint them all, and poweder coat any goodies I can along the way. Thinking a deep maroon, but more red than the factory had it. The maroon that it is (was) now was to brown for my taste.
  10. It would be cool if the new Charger would qualify for something like this.
  11. I looked at 3 CB350 twins, 1 CB350 4 cylinder, and 1 360 twin. I was going to do a Cafe style racer with it, swap CB500C forks and front brakes (disc instead of drum), clubman bars, etc, etc. But then I got the idea to try to make some money to fund the real project I want to do. If I just putting money together as it was available I would get burned out on a project pretty quickly, so this way is probably better for me. There was one guy with 2 CB350 twins on craigslist for $400. One with title and a broken cam bolt, the other with no title and a good engine to snag parts from. http://desmoines.craigslist.org/mcy/669418614.html He also had a fairing to go with it. Fix the one, part out the other, you should have no problem making money.
  12. Anyone know the 1/4 mile times for the RSX-S??? I smoked one bad with a few mods this weekend and took him easier than I thought I should. He kept trying though, and each time same result. I thought they were supposed to be low 14 hig 13's??? Am I high?
  13. Yeah, it's only real mechanical problem is a coolant leak from the thermostat/cross over tube area. Shouldn't be bad at all. Largest expense will be tires at $100-$150 for the set depending on the deal I find.
  14. All good points, I'll be sure to ask for support on those items in my letter to my congressman! If you don't want to wear seatbelts, don't wear them. Just don't expect to ride in my truck without one and respect my authority when I say "get the F-out" when you refuse.
  15. Not really my style either. I like the muscle bikes, like GS1100G's, VMAX, VROD, that type of thing. I just wanted something to work on to make a few bucks and maybe the occasional trip to work to save gas. Nothing sells like an over the road cruiser with full dress though, and I have owned a few CX500 and a GL650, which share the same platform and engine/drivetrain layout, so it's a good fit.
  16. I have similar feelings to you Chris, but 180 degrees around. I actually almost ran over an ejected person on 235 north bound by Euclid exit. He was the seatbeltless driver of a little Mustang that hit a center divider while he was swerving to miss merging traffic... He was in the "fast lane" of traffic just as I pulled out to pass slower traffic, luckily I saw his friends standing near him on the shoulder and had time to yank it back into the other lane. We went back to block traffic while they pulled him off a safe distance, but he was already dead. I'm like Nashss now, can't drive through a parking lot without it. Every once in a while, I have a dream about it too... wish I could shake it.
  17. Nice looking truck, but no ss that's for sure!
  18. I found it on Craig's List for $500 as a "parts bike" that had been sitting in the barn. We put a free battery into it (someone had just turned it into the store as a core and they said we could have it, voltage tested good), and then we drained the carbs and tank of it's 5 year old gas, and the SOB started up on the second push!!! No rattles, good compression, shifts fine...Granted it still needs the carbs pulled and cleaned, and a brake job amoung a few other things, but hell... This is a lot more bike than I was expecting for 500 bucks! All of the luggage is there in good shape, and the locks ALL WORK which is unusual. The paint actually looks to be in decent shape under the bird doo and dirt. I'm going to power wash it tonight and see how bad the clearcoat really is... No dents, dings, or deep scratches though...
  19. Good: Spray on silicone (works OK, but leaves streaks) Better: Any automotive wax (carnuba only) Best: Zoop Seal
  20. It's 3. There's one under the separator plate, one above the separator in the housing, and a main forward accumulator on the side.
  21. Yes, it's been in for over a month now. Doing great so far! (knock on wood) They were good to work with and let me customize the shifts to what I wanted (a touch softer on low speed shifts). The included converter is up to a 2500 stall stock type, higher stall will be more money, so it's easier/cheaper to go to aftermarket and sell theirs. I ended up getting my TT3000 opened up, cleaned, and restalled to 3200. Loving every minute of it!
  22. Yeah, they have a nice air show up in Ankeny, Iowa and we've had a few RC B29's fly over and drop bombs in simulated battles, along with jet powered F16's, Mig's, and others... all going at once!
  23. I didn't think the 315 or 335 fit a 'vert??? At least without modification.
