  1. My resvoir tank sprang a leak too. It cracked right where the return hose fitting threaded in. I fixed it with some apoxy from NAPA. However, I will be getting a new one soon just in case the crack spreads further eventually. Glad to know thats all it was. I have a radix and I was getting a little scared as mine has some miles on it now...
  2. Welcome. I am not aware of the Wheel 2 Wheel turbo kit (who is also out of business). W2W did have a rotrex(?) supercharger kit that did fairly well making power, but never really caught on much. I think there is a member here that has one (ImposterSS? dont recall) Detroit Speed Works had a front mount turbo that was a good kit. Livernois Motorsports bought them out and carried on the turbo kit for some time, but it has since been removed from their website, but could still be available. Doctors of Performace? also do one off custom turbo kits and one of the fastest SSS's has/had one (I think it was from them anyways). The main thing is that there is so much more to write about this subject. First, I would recommend that you go to the sticky at the top of the Forced Induction section on the site, which gives a general breakdown of most of the kits available out there. However, I don't think it has been updated very recently, but it is a good place to start. Secondly, we would want you to write down a list of goals for the truck so we can help you better decide which route to go with the truck. Some examples would be: What is your total budget? Is there a max vs comfortable? How much HP do you want? Are you looking for a certain quarter mile time range? Are you willing/able to do the work yourself? Do you plan to tow with the truck? How do you use your truck? DD? Weekend Cruiser? Do you plan to do this in stages or all at one time? Do you have any mods currently? I'm sure there are more, but these will help many of us give you the advice you need. Oh, and some might even suggest searching the site as many questions have come up before. Try a search ofr Kenne Belle also.

  4. Ted Nugents motto of "I like Dead Offenders" comes to mind immediately myself...No more repeat offenders.
  5. Yeah, this one was an 04-06 with the 400hp LS6 (I think they got an LS2 in 06? not sure), most likely and 04-05, but not the new 09 with 550+hp.
  6. Finally had a decent run with a CTS V. We were merging onto a local freeway where there was a good break in traffic with me behind him and he put the hammer down at about 40mph, I had already shifted to 2nd and followed suit. He moved all the way over to the left lane and I had access to the middle lane. I was able to make up the 2 car difference we had between us on the on ramp and get beside him by 95ish where we shut it down. We then got another run where we ran from about 70-100+ and I pulled a couple lengths on him. That one surprised me. I think he might have just been messing around in 4th or 5th gear and didnt go to 3rd on that one, my truck only traps 101ish and those V's trap a little higher, he should have had me on the top end or at least been dead even I think.
  7. Saw it last night with my fiance. We were both iffy on it. I'd say C+. Graphics are great, the actors ok. Its not as cheesy as Independence Day and certainly not as predictable. However, I think it could have been much better, the ending was not thrilling like mentioned above. However, it is left open for a sequel. I would say the first 40 minutes were 100 times better than the last 40 minutes. I think its rated at 113min long. I'm still 50/50 on it. I did like it better than independence day or likewise movies because it does have political and social overtones Africa and the UN are facing today and the story line is better than most other alien movies. It highlights and touches on some common myths in African society as well. It also touches on some of the atrocities governments might be capable of in respect to "human" rights. NO SPOILERS Direct from the yahoo! movies website...
  8. I am slightly confused. Does this vette have LT4 heads on the rebuild? I cant tell if that manifold is an LT4, it looks like it might be red/orange, but then again, just my eyes playing tricks on me?
  9. The new 370Z's are running low 13's stock. They are quick. Had you ran him from a dig, I think it might have been a little different/closer at 100mph.
  10. Very good place. We got to eat at the original one in Windsor Ontario 10yrs ago. I think it will take off and do very well in the states. Theres one of those near my house as well. I go there often rather than subway or something else. Same price, better food and better topping options.
  11. Hows the install going? Were you able to figure everything out?
  12. I'm not at home and cant down load the directions at work, but if I recall correctly, I think it asks you to skip the fuel pump installation where you have to drop the tank for the 04+ trucks. I think there have been a few revisions to the directions and what number it is telling you to skip to is wrong, but close. I think I had the same issue 2yrs ago when I did mine. Either way, just know you dont have to drop the tank, but you have to install the inline fuel pump booster underneath the truck.
  13. This is great for 2nd Amendment supporters... http://biggeekdaddy.com/miscvideos/TedNugent.html
  14. L92 is a great route, but I think you might be thoroughly disappointed for the amount of work, time, effort, money, and planning you will have to put into the L92 swap. I know I am going against the flow and I am bias because I have a radix, but for the money, you cant wrong with a used radix kit. When I first bought my truck, I was in the same boat as you. I had $4k to drop on the truck. I wanted a mid 13's truck. I was going to go with the XR281 comp cam and Dart heads (L92's were just coming into existance in 2006 and were still unproven and hard to get a hold of). I was going to do a 2600 stall (yank), and headers. I figured with all of that, I would blow almost my entire $4k and be at mid to high 13's at best probably. Zippy was great with his advice back then just like he is now. He's my tuner. Then I was looking at possibly going to a 3k stall or higher, to get the truck into the low 13's. I really really wanted a 402/408 bad, but couldnt swing $7-10k to do one at the time. Then I found a used radix on the board, on here, for $3,300. I responded and told the guy that I would give him $3k paypal's immediately, and the rest was history. I chose the radix because it had all the low end torque I could ever want. I tow and a 3k+ stall was out of the question. Also, lack of low end torque was out of the question. With the radix kit, 2600 converter, and headers, I've been to low 13's. Maybe had I done the heads/cam, or even the L92's now, I might be mid 13's or might even be able to get to low 13's, or 12's like shadowsniper, but it seems like too much work when the radix went on in about 8hrs by myself and have had no issues since. Also, consider that my times are in full street trim, spare tire in, fiberglass bed cover on, half tank of fuel, etc. No weight reduction. The other upside is that the radix kit can come off as easily as it went on, going back to stock for me would take a day. I dont know about converting back from the L92 swap, it might be a little more intensive. I dont know, maybe its not an option for you. Its just something to consider from someone who was in your situation once too. However, I have to say, I have far exceeded my budget after doing headers, trans, converter, etc. Its addictive.
  15. Taco Bell didnt make the list but Wendy's, Burger King, and KFC did. I'd like to try some of those other places to see if they are really that good.
  16. Since we have talked about fast food in the past, I found this article interesting. http://www.esquire.com/the-side/feature/fa...ha=1&kw=ist So, is the winner really that good above the rest?
  17. I drove up Woodward Sunday after work from 696 to Pontiac. It was dry and there were a few cars out and about. The boys in blue were out as well. It was comical seeing a small group of lawn chairs every half mile or so.
  18. Sure, it takes away the sleeper portion if the hood is popped. However, unless the hoods are raised, no one is going to know until it goes WOT and hear the whine. Idle sounds like stock. I'm just trying to get the guy the best bang for the buck and give him an alternative to reach his goals. Either way, he's going to need to look at a transmission down the road as well.
  19. I say go in a different direction. You want sleeper and a fast 1/8th mile truck? Wait it out for a used radix kit. You should be able to find one around $3k with everything you need. Just the kit alone will get you into the high 8.xx's and a little more work will get you into the low 8's. Just look at my setup. It's a lot easier than top swapping a motor in my opinion. This way you also eliminate the guessing game for the cam selection. Don't get me wrong, next build I'm going 402 or 408ci and NA, but the supercharger did exactly what I wanted. 12's are only a pulley away from me. My run is located in the strip section. I wil link to it later when I have some more time.
  20. Joe, I get out of work at 4pm. Dont think the truck will be cleaned up, but I'll join you if you want another SSS to roll with.
  21. Wish I had more advanced notice. I have to work 3pm to midnights next week. I'll see if I can grab Wednesday off, not sure if I can though.
  22. I like the idea myself, however, good luck with ever getting it implemented. I love how the most logical solutions in our country are the hardest to pass into law. Like many good ideas, I'm sure it will most likely not happen. I've had to pee in a cup for all but one job and had they done a drug test at that company, over 50% of the employees wouldnt be employed there any longer.
  23. I'm 99% certain its cooling and the motor is shutting down. I had the same problem with my 225hp Optimax 2stroke. The cooling outlet nozzlegot clogged up with sand and dirt and hardened. The boat would idle fine, and go fine through no wake. Once I got on it, it would start to get hot and shut off. It wouldnt start again until the motor cooled off enough. These modern two strokes have safety measures built into them. I bet you have a sensor somewhere that detects if the engine is over heating. Find where the hot water is supposed to come out at. I would check that for clogging as well. I had to clean mine out with a coat hanger. Your system might not be completely blocked though since it takes some good running to get it to die, but then it needs to sit and cool off to start it back up.
  24. Those "cats" will not pass a sniffer test. They have zero catalytic properties because they are not catalytic converters. There is no ceramic or metallic catalyst in them. Saving your stockers might be a good idea. I had real high flow magnaflow cats and those passed emissions in Cleveland, OH. You could check around and see if magnaflow makes a set that could bolt in on the obx with maybe little modification.
  25. I took my cats off with my pace setters, have been running around for year now with the cel on for the back cats and have not had any issue. I ran a 13.19@101 that way too. Truck wont lose any power because the light is on. You will notice an obvious difference in power. You will notice a greater difference than NA guys because you are FI. Be sure to take care of your plug wires and get them tied up and out of the way. The cats from obx and more or less just small resonators, they do absolutely nothing for emissions. Thats why they are straight through. They are only good for basically passing a visual inspection. They would never pass a sniffer test.
