  1. Mileage on the body is around 130k. Procharger has been gone for several months now or it would still be on the truck haha
  2. Yes, thanks Brian. I'm talking about picking up HP Tuners and logging the truck yourself and emailing the files to the tuner for modification. Not many times are there an abundance of shops in everyone's area that know what the hell they're doing when it comes to tuning. Some may think they are badass and know everything about everything but in reality are just punching numbers in till shit works.
  3. That's a true statement. In all honesty, unless you have an ungodly transmission builder in your area, I'd save myself the headaches and pick up an 80e. A good rebuild with a shift kit and you should be just fine with the 80e. With a rebuilt stock trans with upgrades like I said in your other thread, it could last you forever, or not make it through the first few WOT pulls. Its a crap shoot.
  4. As long as whoever is tuning the truck knows what theyre doing and he has the fuel system to support it especially running E85, how do you figure he is asking for trouble running 15psi? Hell I was running 93 on 15psi without a problem. To the OP, give Zippy a call and talk to him about tuning. I can promise you that he will do a better job tuning it via e-mail and logs than any shop in your area. Feel free to PM me as well, youre building something damn similar to what my truck was with the procharger.
  5. Yes, the procharger was removed a few months ago with the intention to go turbo and I just lost interest in building it again.
  6. Hahaha, yeah...that was a bit awkward.
  7. Only way it'll get de-modded is if someone commits to buying it and doesn't want the mods. If the truck doesnt sell she will just sit in her cozy garage till i have time to drive her, haha. Ill let you know though
  8. Well, I really hate to do this but its time for the SSS to find a new home. I'm not hurting for money nor do I have to sell the truck, I just have decided it's time to move on to something different. If anyone here is interested please feel free to PM, text or call. 903-918-9380 If it is between 8AM-6PM Mon-Fri please PM or text only. If you do call, just leave a message and I will get back to you after work. Asking $16,500 as she sits or $15,000 de-modded. I will post more pictures as I get her all shined up this weekend. When I bought the truck it was 100% bone stock an previously owned by an older gentleman. All work to the truck was either done by myself or with the help and guidance of Danny (Sprayed99) and Steve (Mr.P), as well as a few others who aren't members here or are not active anymore. I'm sure there are other things that I have missed or left out so if anyone is interested just get in contact with me and we can go over everything. Zach
  9. Ive ordered all of my HID kits from ddmtuning.com. Always had good luck out of them and have had the set in the SS lo and hi for over 4 years. Ive always used the 35W ballasts. The SS has 8k lows and 6k highs, but if I was going to buy another set id get 6k for the lows as well. I put 35W 6k lows and fogs in my dmax and like them much better. More light output and just a hint of blue tint to them.
  10. Im with these guys, 10psi is definitely not the limit for a stock motor. I was seeing around 15psi+ before I sold my D1 and the motor is still running great. Jon was running over 20 psi with his D1 on a stock bottom end and never had any issues. Tuning and fuel system are the most important things to look at if you want the motor to hold up to ANY amount of boost. The trans is another story. The stock trans with a shift kit could last 50k miles or it could last 500 miles, its a crap shoot really. Even a fully built 65 could crap out after only a few hundred miles or it could last forever. Again, tuning goes a long way.
  11. Honestly it might be cheaper to take it to an exhaust shop and have them cut the y-pipe at the merge and weld it or flare/clamp it to the factory intermediate pipes rather than trying to fab up a single exhaust yourself. Or ditch the y-pipe all together and cut the factory intermediate pipes a tad shorter to mate up to the header collectors. Im not familiar with the Cal speed headers so I dont know if the collectors and y-pipe are 2.5 or 3" but it wouldnt be difficult to mate up the pipes you already have on the truck to the headers. Just a couple ideas.
  12. Where in Dallas are you located? Not sure if I could come up with the problem but there are a few people up here that probably could.
  13. Dang it Ryan....hold onto this till I get my tax return! LOL. Good luck with the sale, I wish I could take it off your hands.
  14. I used to have a down firing box in my truck a few years ago. As with any 99-07 classic body style truck with any kind of aftermarket subs, Dynamat is your friend. As far as the box goes, it worked just fine.
  15. Woohoo, freebies! Congrats Matt
  16. My best time with the P1 was 12.1 I think, but that has been a while ago. Trans will definitely need some love. 80e would be ideal but a well built 60e will hang out for a while as long as its built properly and you dont beat on it 24/7.
  17. Just to update the list, both shops listed in the DFW area are a no go. FI Systems has shut down completely and Dallas Auto Sports no longer has an AWD dyno. I've called around and found a couple others (AWD Tuning dyno isn't large enough, T1 Race Development can't get anyone in unless you're having a car built/tuned there and they couldn't confirm if their dyno was large enough, Alamo Autosports is supposed to be calling me back later today after they get someone to measure their dyno)
  18. It all depends on your budget. CAI, headers, exhaust and a tune will net you a big improvement over stock but if you're anything like the rest of us it will only be enough for so long. Then it will be time for a bigger cam and converter and possibly heads, then FI of some kind. Happy modding and welcome!
  19. I always heard/read that you just pull the front driveshaft out and put the truck in neutral after the pull and let the rollers slow everything back down. Never tried it on mine, but was always pushed towards doing so back home when I had the procharger.
  20. Not a problem fellas. If its still daylight when I get home from work Ill crawl under there and get the part number for the front shaft and measure the rear.
  21. Front driveshaft from a duramax will work, I have the part number somewhere or I can crawl under the truck and get it off the driveshaft for you. For the rear, youre limited to finding someone who can shorten your stock driveshaft or have a new one made. I had one made for mine because I couldnt find anyone in my area to cut and shorten the aluminum stocker.
  22. We were in the same boat as you David. I'm 6'5" and shes 5'9"ish or taller so our kiddo pretty much has to ride in the middle of the back seat if we take the SSS anywhere. Before I bought the crew cab dmax and we had our son rear facing I did the same as some others have said, a rolled up towel under the front of the car seat worked well for us. Our car seats have two different positions for the back rest and even with it in the reclined position he was still sitting almost straight up. Now that he's 13 months old and sitting forward facing we still keep him in the middle if we take the SS because he's so effing tall, almost 36" already at only 13 months! If we are in the dmax he can sit on either side but we still normally keep him in the middle so he can see both of us and more of whats going on, along with the screen in the dash so we can play movies for him if he starts to get cranky on longer car rides. Id try the rolled up towel or some padding wrapped around a 2x4, should help out quite a bit!
  23. You could always pick up the TVS2300 thats for sale on pt.net for it
