  1. Just upgrade photobucket you cheap bastard! haha
  2. Im going to have to side with the OP on this one... Yes Texas Speed is a very reputable company and have served many of us well over the years the fact still remains that he was quoted for the price, invoiced and charged in full for the exhaust and not until after the sale was final did someone at TSP realize that they messed up. I would call them back and ask to speak with Tyler (pretty sure thats his name) He is one of the owners and a very cool and understanding guy. If they still refuse to honor the original sale I wouldn't be hesitant at all to throw the word lawsuit around. It isnt even about the price difference anymore, its about owning up to your mistakes and if that means taking a hit on an exhaust to keep a customer happy then they should do just that.
  3. The wheels might look better if the truck was lowered a lot more. The tires are just too damn small and make it look off. Im not a fan of anything bigger than a 22" wheel on these trucks but I could probably tolerate those with a drop.
  4. And thats all fine and dandy for y'all, and Im more than happy that it work 100% as advertised for you. But if you would actually read and try to comprehend what I said, you might understand. I never said METH WILL NOT LOWER YOUR IAT's...what I said was, dont be upset or alarmed if you dont see a drastic drop in IAT, based completely off of other people that I personally know who have been using methanol for years. Results are different for everyone, and not everyone sees a 70* drop in IAT when installing a meth kit. Whether you see a huge drop or no drop at all in IAT at the sensor it doesnt mean the kit isnt working or not performing like it should, it just means that your sensor didnt pick it up. That probably has a lot to do also with where you mount the nozzle, the mixture of water/meth that youre spraying, etc. I was in no way shape or form trying to bash meth kits or say that they dont work, I was just giving my opinion and second hand experience from people with some very respectable turbo/supercharged vehicles. And as far as manufacturers claims on their own websites, if thats all everyone had to go by then we would all have 1000+hp cars and trucks that ran perfectly 100% of the time and we'd all be in credit card debt up to our necks. If you really want to know how a methanol kit works in its entirety then go read something other than the manufacturers website, theres a bit more to it than just cooling off the air in your intake.
  5. If you could actually rely on everything that every manufacturer posts about their products then there would be no need to post on forums such as this to ask others about their opinions and experiences. Im in no way shape or form saying that you are wrong, or that a methanol kit will not lower your IAT's. Im simply stating that out of everyone I know that run methanol on their vehicles either currently or in the past, the MAJORITY of them saw little or no drop in their IAT readings at the sensor. If the research you're referring to me doing is simply reading someones website about their products then perhaps your idea of research needs to be broadened.
  6. Like I said, Im going solely off of all of the info gathered from personal friends that have been using methanol kits for years. Also, as stated above, I said "hardly anyone i know" has seen a noticeable drop in IAT's. I did not say that in EVERY case of using a methanol kit there will be no drop in IAT's, did I? No... So before you go blasting someone as being WRONG, try to understand that results are different for everyone and I was giving my personal opinion and outlook on methanol kits. As to the OP, I hope you get out of your kit what youre looking for and glad the customer service was on par. Devils Own makes good kits, ive never heard anything bad about them from anyone that I know personally that runs their kits.
  7. Biggest question would be whats your budget? Do you want something not too expensive with higher miles or are you okay with paying in the 18-20k range for something low mileage? Either way, welcome to the forum and if you have any questions or need advice on looking for an SS in the DFW area feel free to message me.
  8. I think thats the biggest misunderstanding of methanol kits, lower IAT's. IF you spray before your MAF or IAT sensor you MIGHT see a slight drop in temps. However, what the methanol mixture is doing inside the combustion chamber is where you're getting your benefits from the kit. The air charge thats being mixed with the fuel inside the motor is whats going to help you out. Dont expect to see drastic drops in IAT's from installing a methanol kit because more than likely it wont even show in the IAT's. If you dont see a drop in IAT's dont be afraid and dont assume that you bought the kit for nothing, because its still doing what its designed to do. I have never installed a methanol kit on my own vehicles, but have deducted this info from many others who have had first hand experience with them. Hardly anyone I know with a meth kit on their car or truck has seen a noticeable drop in IAT's before and after install.
  9. I toasted the carrier bearing assembly in mine but thats the only trouble Ive had from the trasfer case after 5 years of abuse with 2+ years being supercharged. The price seems a bit high for a reman unit but then again it was through a dealer and one such short notice it was probably worth the extra coin. Just glad you were able to make it there and get it fixed before it did damage to anything else!
  10. ^^^ if anyone knows itll be this guy. I was hoping Tony would pop in here and throw in his .02
  11. hopefully that will fix your problems
  12. All the AWD trucks are a single DS, only the 2wd's got the 2 piece with a carrier bearing (center support bearing). Im not sure what you need to fix the problem for your truck but at least I was in the right area with pinion angle! haha
  13. Did you shim the pinion angle at all? I dont know much about lowering these trucks that low because all I have on mine is shackles but pinion angle is the only thing that jumps out at me that could cause the rear end to vibrate after a drop.
  14. You definitely wont be disappointed. If youre looking to buy a Duramax try to find one 06 or newer. The redesigned motor for 06 & 07Classic were much improved over the 04-05 and older.
  15. Well since both the SS and fourth gen are paid off and not really big enough to easily get my 1 year old in and out of I decided it was time to step up to something a little larger. I picked up a 2006 2500HD crew cab, short bed 2wd Duramax on Monday. Bone stock other than cat & muffler delete and surprisingly enough its still ridiculously quiet! Only had it for a week but I absolutely love it, I wish I would have bought one a long time ago! The nerf bars will be ripped off this weekend for sure, I can't stand them and at 6'5" I really dont need them, haha. I'll be keeping my eye out on CL and ebay for some factory tow mirrors because the half ton style mirrors just dont look right on there IMO. Also already have HIDs for lows and fogs on the way and debating whether I'm going to drop the rear to level it out or raise the front. Being 2wd and a highway only truck I'm leaning more towards shackles in the rear. Here's some pics!
  16. Not worth the time or effort in my opinion...youd have to do some modifications for sure to even make the manifolds work, and good luck with the rest of the hot piping. Contact one of the vendors over on pt.net that build turbo kits, you'll be much happier with the end result!
  17. Why rig it up, those sensors are cheap...just go buy a new sensor, dig the plastic back out of your plug and plug in the new one, very simple.
  18. Shipping a car isn't all that expensive...or hell, fly down here and drive it home! This car gets 26-28mpg on the highway @75-80 in 6th gear. That's hard to beat for a v8 fun to drive car!
  19. Go ahead and buy it and ill tow it up there, for a small fee of course!
  20. Thanks guys. I love this car to death and would love to keep it but just don't need and can't afford three vehicles haha. Someone needs an fbody!
  21. Selling my 2000 Z-28 (LS1/T-56) because I'm in need of something bigger. I've only owned this car for a little less than a year but it is not only a blast to drive but its also very solid for its age. The previous owner gave me every receipt for everything ever done or bought for the car. Since buying it I have installed a new alternator, tie rods, front and rear pads and rotors, a custom PCM tune and a dynomax muffler. The car sounds and drives great. It does need some TLC but nothing major. Tires are in like new condition and I do have the receipt and warranty info for them as well. The car currently has 276,xxx miles on the clock. I bought this car with around 260,xxx less than a year ago and have driven it every day since, it has not let me down a single time and runs perfect. For the miles and its age this is the cleanest fbody around, and I have done my best to increase its reliability since I've owned it. I am open to cash offers only, NO TRADES. Please feel free to contact me @ 903-nine one eight-9380. Asking $5000 OBO. If you call and I do not answer please leave a message or shoot me a text. More pictures can be emailed or sent through text. Thanks Zach
  22. you wont need a fuel pressure regulator unless you plan on going return and removing the one thats on the pump assembly. only thing youll need is tbss or nnbs fuel rails and the evep solenoid
  23. Not to mention the guy can't form a complete sentence or spell worth a shit... And holy oil pressure batman...60psi at idle on a nearing 100k mile motor? Guessing maybe the sending unit or gauge is messed up.
  24. Not a terrible deal for the intake but Id go ahead and throw at least a 90mm tb on it while youre at it or just save up for a 102. Youre really choking down that massive intake with a stock tb, but it would get you by i suppose until you could get one more suited for the intake. I just have a TBSS intake and LS3 tb on mine and i was happy with the small upgrade it gave over the stock stuff, quite a bit better throttle response for sure and you can get them CHEAP. I dont know if i can post the link on here or not so ill hold off on that.
  25. just google anything about Hennessy and all of his lawsuits. Guy is a grade a douche bag
