  1. Just as long as its Lingenfelter and not Hennessy....
  2. I just love the fourth gen because parts are so easily available and inexpensive. Not to mention the car itself will be tremendously less than a brand new mustang. If warranty and comfort of having a brand new car is what youre after then by all means buy whatever you please but if its just going to be a DD Id buy another 4th gen camaro in a heart beat. I bought this car with 263,xxx miles on it only about 4 months ago and have since tacked on another 10k miles of DD use, I drive from Dallas to East Texas every weekend and drive the car 35+ miles to work every day each way and the only hiccup ive had was from a crappy alternator that the previous owner installed and redid all the brakes, again because the previous owner was an idiot. Sure I dont have a warranty or a fancy new car but what I do have is a reliable DD that I can maintain and work on myself, it has plenty of get up and go and is a blast to drive and best of all, no car payment.
  3. Just find you a fourth gen f-body with a 6-speed. Mine gets 26+ on the highway and its still a Chevy
  4. it has been a 3506 for a while now, i wouldnt recommend running a fram filter to begin with but to each his own...
  5. I had the PATC MR-2L in my truck and loved it. I didnt read all 6 pages so forgive me if someone already said this but the PATC converter in your first post wont work for your truck, its for EARLY style 60e's. You would need to go to the 5LX or the MR-2L for a later model 60e. Im also currently running another PATC converter with my 80e and have nothing but good things to say about this one as well.
  6. Both are a good buy for the money. OBX are stainless vs Pacesetter are mild steel but have the option of coming ceramic coated. I would probably pick the Pacesetters just because they dont have that goofy hump in the drivers side primaries but I think someone posted a while back that they fixed that issue. LPP is also another one to consider if you want to go stainless.
  7. Only if youre upping the boost but if its staying the same then no you can change them out without a retune. If you feel it needs a retune after you go from whatever plugs are in it now to the new ones you can always have whoever is doing your tuning write you an update based on log files or in person, however youre having the truck tuned
  8. with the boost levels youll be seeing with the P1 even if you pulley it down more the TR6 will be the plug to go with.
  9. 4.8 and turbo it...you wont be disappointed
  10. Those look good man. Only thing that would make them look better to me would be a deeper lip or a lip at all really lol
  11. Alternator or lose/corroded ground somewhere possibly. Mine did the same thing recently and it was my alternator shitting the bed
  12. Wouldnt be as easy as just switching them. The 1 piece from the AWD trucks would be too short due to the added length off the transmission from the transfer case. You could probably have an aluminum one made just by measuring the length overall that you need but going from the two piece to a one piece shaft you'll more than likely throw off your pinion angle enough to have to shim it. Would it be worth it to swap to a one piece aluminum over the stock two piece...probably not IMO.
  13. I drive my truck quite often from Dallas back to East Texas and have towed with it on a few occasions without a problem. I dont have a single bad thing to say about my PATC converter from their customer service to the performance of the converter and trust me it gets some abuse every time I drive the truck. To BLOWN SS/T, TCI and TCS are two different companies, I've never used or known anyone to use a TCI product. PTC and PATC are also different companies and again, I know nothing of the PTC product. PATC is located in Shreveport/Bossier, Louisiana and is a very good place to do business whether youre buying parts to build your own trans or having one built by them or getting a converter.
  14. Best advice I can offer you is DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON A CONVERTER. If you don't have the money for a good quality name brand converter just save up and wait until you do. Seen too many people use cheap off brand converters and have failures that can ruin not only the converter but the entire trans. I've had personal experience with both TCS and PATC converters, both are very good quality and I never had any issues with either. PI, Yank, and Circle D are also all good companies to look at. Just my .02
  15. the 285/50 is just a hair shorter than the 275/55
  16. im running them, 305/50-20's on stock wheels. great traction wet or dry, treadwear is awesome. i disagree with will though, i like the way they look! i did see a ss with stock wheels running a factory size 275 and they looked goofy, just too narrow for the tread pattern.
  17. which COMP sub is it? compvr, vx, etc...
  18. Yeah id say the good old dealer screwed up and sold you the wrong shit... By the way, that TB isnt THAT dirty...should have seen the one i pulled off my 270K mile f-body....that thing was nasty
  19. i have a stock hood but shipping to you then having it painted would probably kill the deal. glad to hear no one was hurt and you got the assholes plates
  20. I bought this motor with the intention of putting a cam in it and dropping it in my high mileage f-body but some things have come up financially and I need to recoup some funds. Motor is out of an 05 1/2 ton, mileage is unknown but it is VERY clean. Motor spins over freely, cam bearings look great, cylinder wall hatching is still very clear in every cylinder, etc. If I had to put a guess on mileage I would estimate it to be around or under 50k. The last 6.0L I bought had 55k miles and this engine is much cleaner. Asking $600 obo for the shortblock I also have my stock truck intake, throttle body and LQ9 OR LQ4 cam that I can throw in for another $150. All youd need to complete the motor is a set of heads of your choice and oil pan to match your application. I have a set of 317 heads that I will include for free if motor, intake, tb and cam are all purchased. Only thing with the heads are they will need some slight repairing of a couple chambers from pieces of exploding piston and they may need to be milled slightly. (I have NOT had these checked out to see if they can even be repaired but theyre free so Im not taking the time to have them checked, sorry) Anyone interested please feel free to post, PM or text/call @ 903-918-9380. Thanks Pictures will be up in the next day or two Zach
  21. Bruiser also did an auto shifter in the console.
  22. For some weird reason the BWD Map sensors from O'Riellys dont work in our SD situations. The sensor im running is the factory GM Cobalt SS map sensor and it works just fine. I tried to use a BWD sensor for the same year model SS cobalt and the truck wouldnt even stay running. Anyway, glad you guys are getting it all figured out and i couldnt agree more, Mike has helped me out more times than i deserve. Hell of a guy
  23. price is WAAY off the mark, even for the mileage. clean truck for sure though
  24. some counties do a sniffer but most just do a visual
  25. if all youre worried about is passing a visual inspection just pick up a set of fake cats from ---> http://www.frozenboost.com/product_info.php?cPath=210&products_id=320&osCsid=7a0056c7816319d49befd848cf8a8c7c I have those on my truck. Quality is great, looks like a cat but isnt, and for 40 bucks a piece its hard to go another way.
