Update. Just talked to my uncle the darn converter blew up. Boooo. Waiting on a new one

Throttle body dirty? Defective? Intake gaskets leaking? I had that on mine causing a vacuum leak and had real bad idle issues and lean codes.

Sounds like a simple parts failure. What parts did he use in the build. With the wide variety of parts available once you find what broke I would upgrade that specific part. You really aren't at a high enough power level to need the 80E. You just need to make the 65E work for you.
That's what I was thinking. Parts used was, the rebuild kit with the extra clutches, 2800 FTI stall, wide second band, super servo 2nd and 4th, filter, transgo shift kit, acc pistons, billet input shafts, input support, forward pistons, reverse input drum, super smart shell, royal purple fluid..
Any ideas on parts to upgrade? Ill mention it to him.
Thanks zippy

Yes it does big time. Paper work says 1 year warranty so I would think it should be free? It's only been in the truck 4 months and super charged for 3 weeks lol. Darn thing

Thanks guys. My uncle built it and does great work and he put all the good stuff in it and all kids of stuff. I don't know what happened I don't know what to think at this point lol. I'm dropping it off today after work and will let you guys know what happened...

So after all my mods and whipple charger install and 3000 bucks later on a fully rebuilt beefed up Trans the darn thing goes out last night. Everything was fine wasn't into it hard at all I come to a stop sign and when I gave it some gas I noticed a slight slip so I was like what the heck. I then look at the temp gauge and noticed it was hotter then normal. I pull over and naturally check the fluid level and notice some discoloring and really tiny metal or metallic like shavings on the dip stick. So I drive it home real slow and feels like I lost 1st and 2nd and def overdrive. WTH!!!
Only 3 weeks with a whipple and gone lol. I know I know I know 80e conversion right lol.
Back to the Trans guy today!

Thanks. So the actual block is the same? Everything is going to be different. Forged crank, rods, and forged dished pistons and can.
-
I'm looking for a LQ9 it can be either a short block or long block don't matter. Also the engine can be blown up I'm just looking to rebuild the whole thing. If any of you guys have anything please let me know.

First race today with all the mods and charger done. I was driving on a side st just playing around and I just pumped the gas real quick and this guy in a stang heard it. I get to the red light and he pulls up next to me revving it up and his buddy says wanna race. I said sure why not. Man that light turned green and I punched it I needed up at the next light and he was gone lol. Felt good

I dont understand why people think the bigger the cam the better it is
I agree. Everything has to match. You have to think of future plans. Decide what you want to do with the rest of the motor a s go from there.

Can't remember the size. As far as how tough they are it's hit or miss. Just depends really. I just recently did mine and the passenger size came out fine. The driver side the last bolt to the rear snapped right off hardly any force at all. Had to remove the whole head to drill it out and tap it. Best bet is just soak the heck out them for a few days then just go real easy and try to loosen them.

I bought the rx oil monster catch can and can't figure out for the life of me how to hook this thing up. I don't know what to cap off and what not to. There's no directions and I called tracy Lewis from rx and he couldn't even really explain how to hook it up on my set up. I searched and searched with no luck. I have a side mount whipple. So I had to swap valve covers so now my oil fill is on the drivers side. My catch can has 3 hook up. Does anyone have the proper way to do this? If so please help I'm stressed lol.
Thanks

I used High flow obd2 cats. And had custom exhaust bent

70-2265 is the correct number. Use the search button there's tons of info about this. I just put these on my truck they fit very well and easy to put on. Don't use the gaskets that come with them use the factory ones. The only down fall is the cheap paint they come with. I just bought paint stripper and knocked all the paint off them and used high temp paint on them it worked well. If you can spend the extra money and buy the coated ones.

No one lol? Weird.

All stock internals. I have long tube headers high flow cats and x pipe. 60 pound injectors and that's pretty much it. The pulley is 4.25 I measured it. And I called whipple tech support also and talked to 2 diff guys and they all said should be around 5 pounds of boost. They can't explain why I have 10
-
It's a side mount whipple. And my guage Is hooked to the 90 that connects from the discharge of the whipple to the manifold. I checked today with a diff guage and it says the same thing. 10 pounds of boost. So that eliminates my thought on a bad boost guage.
