I was wanting to get into this and learn how to tune. So I went ahead and bought the pro version of hp tuners. I haven't recieved it yet but I've reading lots of stuff. From what I'm getting out I this the new program comes with 8 credits. You have to have credits to tune a vehicle. It takes like10 credits to unlock all the parameters in the tune? And 1 credit cost like 35 bucks? That's the craziest thing I ever heard lol. Am I missing something here?

Lol very true sorry. But was flying through a intersection didn't want to wreck. I'm sure he's a member on the site

Was working up in Lancaster pa today and see. This bad ass looking SSS with ghost flames coming up the hood. Super clean!!
-
They do charge some coin thats for sure but it wil be nice when its done. This guy is good but he's just always grumpy lol. I'm getting everything in stainless steel an he's only charging me 700 for everything. Witch I thought wasn't to bad.

Jeeze! I just dropped my truck off to have them connect to the headers and run the exhaust to cats and a x pipe. I get there and the guy pulls it right in the shop and puts it in the air. I never heard anyone complain as much as this guy did. Hes f bombing all over the place. How am I f ing going to fit all these pipes in there with a x pipe bla bla bla. I'm like dude ur the exhaust guy you told me you could do it lol. Anyway what a nightmare!

I gotcha. That's awesome I didn't know that. But yes I do have a wide band already hooked up. I have no clue how to do it but I will defy keep you in mind when I receive everything. Thanks man

Wahhhhhhhhhh who I just ordered the hp tuners professional. Although I have no freaking clue what I'm Doing I plan on trying my best to learn it. I'm very excited so well see.

I loved the headers they seem just as good as any other header and fit just right
-
The install went good. Wasn't bad at all

I installed my long tube headers this weekend so I won't be needing the stock manifolds anymore. Not sure if anyone can use them otherwise I'm just going to throw them away you can have them just cover the shipping cost. Anyone interested? It's just both manifolds with the flanges. If you need pics just PM me your email and ill send them to you.

I sure did thanks to u lol. You pumped me up about zippy. I called him last week and gave him all my mods and he's shipping me a tuned computer.
-
I'm sure it can be cleared up. Did you find a tuner?
-
If it throws some codes can it be fixed by tweaking the tune? Or just something you have to deal with??
-
I'm currently in the process of installing my whipple charger. Is it normal after you install a supercharger or any other mod like a cam or any other major performance part for the check engine light to be on even after a tune? Seems like every time someone post pics up on here there check engine light is on. That would drive me crazy! Just curious??

Thanks. I'm going with magna flow mufflers with magna flow high flow cats and a x pipe. Dropping truck off Monday to have all the exhaust done. Can't wait lol
-
That's good news man I'm happy it worked out
Thanks man
-
Well there it is guys. Part numbers don't mean anything lol. They both went right in. The passenger side was a little tricky but both in and good to go. Now I can drop my truck off on Monday to have my custom exhaust and then the whipple install next weekend
-
Just a update the driver side went on with ease. Only had to take out the steering shaft to get the header in from below. Bolted right up. Now to do the passenger side
-
Lol thanks guys. I said screw it and I'm just gonna go with it. Looks like the passenger side is identical and the driver side is slightly diff. If it don't work I'll just sell them and have to reorder the right ones. I'm going to be the guy who proves part numbers wrong haha
-
Yea this sucks they were free but I'm afraid to start taking all my stock exhaust off and try to fit these on being I had appointment to drop my truck off on Monday morning to have all my custom exhaust made:(
I've looked at both sets online and the pics this basically look the same lol. Who knows
-
Well long story short I received a free set of pacesetter long tube headers part number 70-2267.. Well I looked at the paper work and noticed it said silverado awd/4wd 07-09. So I'm like ****.... I did some research and seems to be the correct headers they call for are 70-2265. Does anyone no if the 2267 headers will work? I'd hate to send them back and actually have to pay for a set lol??????

Whipple tech support is the worst ever! That guy Dennis that works there should be fired! I talked to the manager about his sorry self I hope then can him! Sorry had to vent...lol

Agreed. To me, it says something when a builder brings you into his shop and physically walks you through every step of the build, it shows that he has nothing to hide. Good builders are out there........
Agreed.
Head gasket replacement. Help
in Engine Tech And Modification
Posted
Long story short the rear exhaust header bolt snapped off and now it's leaking. It's the driver side and there's absolutely no room to get a 90 degree drill in there and drill it out and tap it. So I'm going to have to remove the head just to drill this damn hole out and tap it. I'm confident I can do this my only concern is how do you adjust non adjustable rocker arms? Do I just take all the rocker arms off and put them back in the exact same spot and torgue them down? I did find a search that said are head bolts are non reusable? So I'm going to order a new head gasket and new header bolts now. Any help on how to do this gasket replacement would be great. Thanks
