  1. Thanks for the reminder, I just reloaded my work machine back to XP after being Vista for a year (no problems with Vista personally, but many of the older Nortel network and voice tools are not very Vista happy). I hadn't reloaded any spyware programs yet, better hop to it. FTW, I'll take Spybot, Symantec (setup properly), and weekly system backups to a USB drive (to cheap to not have one these days, so GO GET ONE!). Oh, by the way, don't turn on automatic updates unless you like unintended features. Read and research updates and only install what's really needed. From a computer geek that's probably been a computer geek almost as long as many of the members on this board have been alive.
  2. If he gets one for Pepsi, can someone make one for Jack Daniels?
  3. Yeah, that vid is waaaaaaay old. Funny as hell.
  4. Until you get into someone else's truck and say "Dude, wth, you ain't got no tint in here?" and you can't see because you don't own sunglasses anymore because your windsheild is tinted. Chris' truck is awsome to ride in on a hot sunny day. Makes the AC work soooooo much better it's not even funny.
  5. Maybe a switch to decaf would help? I've got a decent Kodak with image stabilizing that we could use, and maybe get some rolling shots to show the GO as well as the SHOW!!! You get that intake/cooler piping done yet?
  6. I'm not sure how your math works, but even at a shop rate of $75 an hour that's only $600 for 8 hours... How about you give me a grand, I'll install the cam and kick you hard in your sack. Then you can have the same sinking pit in your stomach feeling as if you would have paid 2 grand, but for half the price?
  7. OK, pure interstate driving yesterday for 260 miles round trip and got 19.4 calculated with 19.2 on DIC. First time over 16 since I got rid of the taller stock tires over a year ago!!! Even with the added timing I can nail the throttle until 4500 RPM and get no KR at all.
  8. Exactly. In my other posts I've said that I have not gone above 4500 RPM until I get the 42's in there. It only needs 30-35% more fuel though.
  9. The mileage is better from being able to add timing. I conservatively added 2-3 degrees on the high/low spark tables and added 1-2 more in cruise cells. Same thing that I did when trying to optimize the spark for 93 octane tune using the "how to" on HPT forums. Since it's E85 only right now, I just have to pla ahead. If no E85 is available, then I'd have to throw in a 93 premium tune instead. At prices about 2 weeks ago, I had figured a cost per mile of 22.3 cents per mile on 93 and 17 cents per mile on E85. With the price increase on premium to right about at 4 bucks and E85 at $2.89 on my last fill, the cost difference is even greater for me to run E85. During normal cruise, the stock injectors flow enough fuel. It's not running lean until WOT and 4500 RPM. Adding larger injectors will not lower my MPG except when I go WOT, which is pretty rare these days with gas prices the way they are. Yeah, with the miles you put on your truck it would be waaaaaay to hard to try to track all of the E85 stations anyway, not to mention you would have to run some pretty dang HUGE injectors to keep up with 30% more fuel on that beast. If I were in your situation I wouldn't even question it either. It's not a question of "if it would work", the "big 3" have already run boosted show cars on E85 that make more power than on regular gas. It just doesn't fit everyone's situation to make it practical. ...but, if our trucks were supposed to be supercharged, have DVD players, TV's, and suede headliners they would have been built that way when they were sold to us.
  10. Yeah, the newer FF vehicles have a "virtual" alcohol sensor from what I've heard and use the same PCM. Is that the route you plan on going for FF? Just a code mask swap to run the bin on an SSS? What all is involved in that? Do you just change the VIN, modify the tune, and "write entire" from a newer FF? Really all that changes on a scan is the injector duty cycle (injectors are to small, I saw 126% on one stab of the throttle). I'll get some scans for you though. Anything in particular you would like to see, or just cruise, mid throttle, etc?
  11. Lowered the injector sizing table by 30% initially and made a few adjustments to iron out the trims. Nothing major at all.
  12. Yup, been running it for a month now. I actually still haven't changed my injectors and still can't go above about 4500 RPM, but the mileage is still better, the E85 prices are still better, and no issues at all.
  13. I was about that happy when I bought my own copy of HPT (I had gone in with fast4popper and his bro on one). Let me know if you'd like to see logs of my 105 octane E85 tune. Still babying it until I get the injectors done though, man it's hard.
  14. Had bad results with the MSD, the ends kept breaking! I'm back with an AC Delco set and haven't had any problems or noticed any difference in MPG or performance. I'm not getting another set.
  15. The Yanks TT series are tighter around town until pushed past about 1/2 throttle, then they stall up nicely. Others I've ridden in (Vig 3200) stalled higher all of the time at part throttle and made it a pain in the arse to backup, go through parking lots, letting the wife drive, etc. At WOT stall speed difference was NIL. The SST 3600 and Vig 3600 drive virtually identical in TBSS's I've been told and are NOT tight around town like the TT series.
  16. Is there a code to turn off in the tune then??? Any other changes to make???
  17. Use car-part.com and get a few from a salvage yard for cheap. There's a place on there selling them for 15 bucks each.
  18. Sorry, they bumped their price 10 bucks on Ultra Series wheels since I looked last.
  19. I want just a plain old LS1 vette with a blown up motor, so that I can buy it cheap, then put a cammed 408 in it. Keep it looking pretty stock, and blow the doors off of about anything around here.
  20. I agree. I drove a few weeks on a Yank TT3000 and ended up having them restall it to 3200 for me and I wish I would have gone to the SST3600. It's probably best for a daily driver that I didn't go that high though as the TT series drives like stock around town until half throttle or so.
  21. I have no interest at all in resale value or auction prices, don't care at all about how it came from the factory. I know other people are into it, but it's totally not my idea of a good time. When I see your car, I see what I could build it into, nothing about leaving it stock would ever enter my mind. Clones don't do it for me, restorations either. I know it can piss a purist off, but purists piss me off. It's OK, not everyone has to be like me. That said, it's still a nice car. And you're not original, it's got painted stripes, heheheheheh!
  22. Don't forget about the new Challenger too, though only available in SRT form. Camaro would be nice as I'm sure HPT would be fun to tinker with in it... I'm thinking my wife might be getting either one of those cars in the second year... Going to be black, since we love that bad ass look so much. SRT Challenger was supposed to be in the 38K range, but limited production and only one combination, added to the fact that over 11,000 people have already put money down for an estimated run of about 6 or 7 thousand cars if I remember right... that means big premium markups. Camaro should hopefully be in Mustang price range since they will have more models hitting the showrooms. Can anyone else see an LS7 SS version??? That would rock!!!
  23. Yeah, design flaw on the date thing. It's the first place to wear out on high circulation Buffalo Nickels, except the first runs that had "five cents" on a higher relief that would wear first. I have a HUGE collection of these nickels I got from my grandpa when I was a kid. Probably at least a hundred bucks in nickels and probably another hundred bucks in Indian Head Cents. I have several nickels from each mint (Philly, Denver, and San Fran) and most of my pennies are from the US Mint and only a few from San Fran (only minted 1 year). Earliest coin I have is an 1862 penny, the earliest nickel I have is a first run 1913. Coins are interesting.
  24. Nice! A friend had a really nice low mileage '81 back in high school, silver with blue stripes and interior and I've had a few second gen TA's. Love that platform, they drift very controllably (is that a word?) and are so easy to upgrade. I guess I will never get the whole "keep it stock" idea. Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that other people keep them stock so that I can find my next unmolested victim to start a hot rod from!
