  1. you shouldve run the passenger side to either the intake tube, or vent to atmosphere. one side (right) should be pulling fresh air in, not have suction/pressure; the left side, or valley cover, should be running from the cover-to a catch can-to vaccum port on the manifold. and you should run either the RX catch can that has a built in valve or a PCV valve in line between the manifold and CC. the current way you descirbed is not good, as there is some evacuation of crank case gases but no source of fresh air to push the bad air through and out of the engine.
  2. run it like described above, will work well. let me know if you need anything
  3. give me a call or text sorry i just now saw this... new topics didnt catch this. the newer valley PCV works much better, but it isnt really worth the work to change it out unless you already have it off for some reason. if you run how i described above, you will be just fine. as to the N20, it wont be any issue regarding PCV, either use a one-way breather or a CC on the fresh air side this is true, if you keep the clean side run like OEM, higher output/boosted motors can suck oil right out of the clean side through the throttle
  4. im curious as to who your referring to, i went back and looked and just about everyone has at least a cam in their truck except mugs, but what he posted wasnt incorrect info..
  5. there is not much you can do as far as live tuning with 20 mins.... he wouldve just read the PCM, changed a few things and reflashed it. thats it. IMO it sounds like a half-ass job... when i tune an LSx, it usually takes 2-3 hrs
  6. im 3.5/4.5, 2" spindles, GF torsion keys, rear shackles/hangers, belltech leafs, helper bags w/ 10 psi (in pic) that shit looks mean, i like it
  7. yeah i like the color, looks like a nice paint job too... prob jammed and all. but really those wheels arent bad because the size... dont mistake that- its by all means the wheel.... even for a floater that is horrible. its too bad, a nice 3/4 drop and some 24s or 22s wouldve been a really clean truck
  8. yeah id like to know that as well... got any pics under hood, with doors open, etc? and yeah theres no way it was white from GM, they do not do "special order colors" like BMW.
  9. that will look pretty good. you remember the BSER guys SS? it was black bottom/red top with an aluminum strip between the two (right? been awhile) and i remember it looked great
  10. yeah but the LS6 cam is pretty mild... its even smaller than the cams he first listed. its a great cam for a completely stock mannered truck that will gain some TQ, but on an NA setup (especially larger c.i. motors like 6.0) it leaves some to be desired. Personally i like the LPE GT11 camshaft for an NA LQ9, the idle isnt rough but its noticabilly different than stock, and the power band is fairly wide on it. 215/231 .631/.644 118 CL
  11. its not written on the muffler on any of the truck systems, just the tip. i have seen it polished off before, and the muffler does look an awful lot like corsa... then again they do sell the tip separately and it could be anything really
  12. yeah thats about right on a stock truck. upgrade the brakes, add some helper air bags to the rear... i tow more with my SSS than with our Duramax sometimes the SSS sees 15,000lb (like today lol) does just fine
  13. those are both modest, mild cams that would work just fine.
  14. it sounds to me like you put the resistor in between the DRL power wire and the ground... this is an easy mistake and no matter what resistor you use it isnt going to do anything. use a test light to make sure you have it between the turn signal power wire and ground... also i would use the 25W or 50W resistor, the 10W isnt going to work
  15. if you got a narrowed diff, all you need to do is tub the fender wells in the bed a little bit... but even if you dont, you can run a 12" wide still. a stock axle will take a 10" wide wheel. the only issue going past 12" is the leaf springs... you have to go 4 link to run wider
  16. how long until you have the money? ebay, CBM makes them. heres the link- CBM injector cups (you just swap the o-rings on the bottom from the injectors, ignore the LS7 to LS2 thing)
  17. run the dual in dual out 2.5"/2.5" magnaflow muffler with the X inside... its a great sounding muffler and flows great. stay FAR AWAY from flowmaster (we call them Flowdisasters here ). its ironic because they suck, they create back pressure as they are chambered like OEM mufflers... as for the size piping and collectors... yes when you make a flange to bolt to the headers, just reduce down to 2.5". i wouldnt recomend using stock cats, they dont flow so well. id use magnaflow round metallic spun high flow cats, they arent too expensive either. we use them on things up to 750 RWHP and work just fine. have shown only an average loss of 3-4 whp on the dyno with over 12 psi boost.
  18. thanks it is on with the park lights/headlights. heres the other two- still havent done the 4th one under the hood yet...
  19. thats a good price on the cylinder heads, but its going to raise your compression an awful lot.. your stock 317 cyl heads have a 74cc combustion chamber and a stock 243 has a 64.5cc chamber, that set is milled 30 thousands so its more like 61-62cc. that would put you pretty high. do you have 93 octane where you are or just 91? if its your DD i wouldnt do a milled set IMO, id look for a set of 243s that are not milled. that will bump the compression a good amount. and NO you cant just use a thick head gasket thats just going to create issues, only use the 5 layer GM gasket (LS3). IMO, i dont like that camshaft. it has small duration but an aggressive lift and LSA, so its going to be pretty choppy and have minor driveability issues at low RPMs. it also is going to make most of its power in the higher RPM range. since your NA i would go with a cam with a little higher LSA (like 114 or 115) and more duration, to get more power, more broad powerband, and better driveability.
  20. these are good brakes but they are $1k brand new and those look like they sure got their use any room on your price...?
